Spring planting is coming up soon. We are having our last (hopefully) freezing nights with sunny days. Spring is here, allergies are on high, but we know it is not yet time to plant in the ground.
I'll be purchasing starts again this year since I cannot do my own currently; I look forward to Mother's day weekend.
Plans for 2026 include removing the plastic greenhouse and increasing the area for planting. The water IBC will move and will be the anchor for a bee area steel roof as well as the pole for Starlink.
I have a solar powered watering system I did not install last year that I want to get installed for this year. I also want to hook up an rv style water pump to the IBC to allow for watering without a bunch of steps if I have guests come and water for me.
I moved a planter box next to the bees that I want to use as a flower planter specifically for butterfly feeding as well as for the bees.
So I lost all my bees over the winter. Not sure if I can afford to purchase a NUC from locally, so I am really hoping to catch another swarm. I need to produce honey to give away as well as for using with my fruit leather recipes.
So no pressure. I love every part of this, so I am really just projecting in the most positive way possible, all the things I would love to do this year to make the garden better and provide for more than just my family.
