Why do some experiences stay with us for years, even when we've tried to move on?

In her conversation for The Breath That Breaks the Silence Summit, Natasha D'Arcangelo explains why trauma can remain in the nervous system long after the original experience.

Using the metaphor of an electrified fence, she shows how therapy is not about erasing the past. It's about reducing the emotional intensity so memories no longer control our lives.

This conversation offers hope and a compassionate understanding of what healing from trauma can truly look like.

What if breathwork wasn't something that prepared you for meditation, but meditation itself?

In his conversation for The Breath That Breaks the Silence Summit, Giten Tonkov explores how conscious connected breathing can quiet the mind and create a state of deep presence.

He shares why traditions like Ta**ra and Yoga have long used the breath as a pathway to meditation and why there is no single breathing technique that works for everyone.

This conversation offers a beautiful invitation to experience the breath as a direct path to awareness and inner stillness.

What if the thing that connects us most is the very thing we're afraid to talk about?

In her conversation for The Breath That Breaks the Silence Summit, One Breath Institute founder Lisa McNett explores what she calls “the silence we share” and the truth that trauma doesn't discriminate by background, gender, or circumstance.

Drawing from her own journey and decades of trauma informed work, Lisa explores how shame, comparison, and judgment can keep us hiding our pain and feeling separate from one another.

She shares why vulnerability and authentic connection matter, and what becomes possible when we stop minimizing our experiences, listen more deeply, and recognize the humanity we share.

This conversation is at the heart of why this summit exists. Because silence keeps us separate. Connection brings us back to one another.

We are all carrying something we think is too shameful to say out loud.

Too small to matter. Too messy to share. Too painful to revisit.

So we stay quiet.

Lisa McNett is a trauma-informed breathwork therapist, somatic practitioner, and founder of One Breath Institute. After nearly 20 years sitting with people in women's prisons, high-end treatment centers, and intimate healing spaces, she keeps coming back to one undeniable truth:

Trauma does not discriminate.

It does not care about your zip code. Your education level. Your gender. How much money you have. Or how put-together your life looks from the outside.

And we also share a longing for love, connection, and the courage to finally stop carrying our burdens alone.

Lisa opens The Breath That Breaks the Silence Summit with the conversation that sets the tone for everything that follows:
The Silence We Share: Trauma Doesn't Discriminate

Free. All of September.

Atara Parkinson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Integrative Practitioner who has spent 14 years working in mental health. Her approach brings together mental health, mineral balance, nervous system regulation, light, hydration, breath, and quantum biology.

After experiencing her own health struggles and discovering the profound impact mineral balancing had on her energy, stress resilience, and mental well-being, Atara began exploring the deeper connection between the body, brain, and mind.

In this powerful conversation, Atara shares why minerals matter for mental health, how morning sunlight can influence our circadian rhythm, why sleep and hydration are more complex than we realize, and how something as simple as changing the rhythm of your breath can support nervous system regulation.

She also reminds us that if one healing tool doesn't work for you, it doesn't mean you're too far gone.

Sometimes, you simply haven't found the tool your system needs yet.

Her message is simple but profound:
Your mental health isn't separate from your body.
Your body is constantly communicating with you.
And healing may begin with learning how to listen.

Sometimes, the intensity of our reaction has less to do with what’s happening in the present moment—and more to do with what’s still asking to be healed from the past.

Keli Carpenter, soul therapist, breathwork facilitator, meditation teacher, conscious relationship and parenting coach, and founder of The TOSA Method, explores what’s really happening beneath our triggers and reactive patterns.

Because a trigger isn't just something happening to us.

It can be an invitation to slow down, listen to the body, question the story, understand the unmet need, and discover the deeper gift underneath the experience.

In her conversation, Kelly shares five parts of a trigger and how learning to recognize them can help us move from reaction to awareness, connection, and freedom.

What if mental wellness wasn't something we focused on only after things fell apart?

What if we built it before the crisis?

Amber Thompson-Snell, co-founder and CEO of Foundation Mental Wellness, is passionate about making emotional wellness accessible and creating safe spaces for honest conversations around mental health.

Through her own journey with adversity and domestic violence, Amber discovered a powerful truth:

Pain can become purpose.

Her work focuses on helping people build proactive mental wellness through accessible support for the mind, body, and spirit—and creating spaces where people, especially men, can feel safe enough to talk, process, and heal.

Because sometimes the most important question isn't How do we treat this?

It's How can we prevent it?

What if the way we create a safer world begins with learning to feel safe within ourselves?

In a culture that moves fast, keeps us distracted, and often leaves us disconnected from ourselves and one another, cultivating belonging can feel more important than ever.

Amy Kulesa, spiritual director, breathwork practitioner, and integrative healing guide, explores what happens when our individual wounds become part of a larger culture of disconnection.

And one of the most powerful ideas she shares is this:

We’re built for love.

When that sense of love, connection, and safety is wounded, our nervous system can respond from fear.

And fear can lead to shame.

Self-rejection.

Disconnection.

And behaviors that move us further away from ourselves and others.

But healing begins when we learn to come home to ourselves.
To our bodies.
To our breath.
To our own experiences.

Because when we can look at ourselves with compassion, we become more capable of looking at others with curiosity and compassion, too.

Amy also shares a beautiful reframe of the word respect:

To look again.
To slow down enough to see the person beneath the surface—their story, their pain, their hopes, and their humanity.

Her conversation inside The Breath That Breaks the Silence Summit:
Cultivating Belonging and Safety in a Dysregulated Culture

Free. All of September.

If you've ever wondered how our personal healing connects to the larger world around us, this conversation is an invitation to slow down, look again, and remember that one breath, one safe person, and one moment of true connection can make a difference.

When the war in Ukraine started, Giten Tonkov was already in Poland.

Within weeks he had set up a center working with millions of refugees experiencing acute trauma.

And when that program ended, he did not stop.

He started training Ukrainian therapists, people living inside the war, to bring Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release back to the people who need it most.

This is what it looks like when someone has spent decades not just teaching breathwork, but living it.

Giten Tonkov is the founder of Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release System, a pioneer in somatic trauma work, and a highly respected voice in the global breathwork community. His work maps the body's seven belts of tension, uses breath, movement, touch, sound, emotional release, and meditation as a complete system — and it has reached thousands of people across six continents.

His message for everyone listening to this summit:
Stop whatever you are doing. Take a moment to feel your breath. Take a moment to feel your felt sensations.

It takes no more than a few seconds. And something will shift.

His conversation inside The Breath That Breaks the Silence Summit:
Biodynamic Breathwork for Trauma Release

Free. All of September.

From someone who has taken this work into the places that need it most.
