Sometimes healing doesn’t look like a major life change.

Sometimes it looks like salty air.
•A good book.
•Bare feet in the sand.
•Watching the waves a little longer.
•Eating the donut.
•Laughing with someone you love.
•Letting yourself slow down without feeling guilty.

These little moments may seem ordinary, but they’re often the ones that quietly refill us.
Summer doesn’t solve everything. Life is still waiting when we get home. But it does give us a chance to breathe a little deeper, reconnect with ourselves, and remember who we are outside of our responsibilities.

As a teacher, I know this season is temporary. The lesson plans, early alarms, and busy days will be here soon enough. Until then, I’m choosing to soak up the sunshine, collect moments of peace, and fill my cup one simple moment at a time. 🌊☀️📚

What simple thing helps you feel like yourself again?

The truth is, toxins are everywhere—and we can’t avoid them all.
But we can reduce our exposure in simple, sustainable ways.

Here are a few of my personal non-toxic living swaps that feel doable:

🌱Essential oils instead of synthetic fragrance (I trust essential oils bc of their seed to seal promise)
🍳Cast iron or stainless steel pans (I have found all of my cast iron pans at the thrift store in great condition!)
🧽Simple, no-junk cleaning sprays ( or )
🚰Filtering tap water ( or )

🌿 Clean living isn’t about fear—it’s about feeling empowered in your home.

💬 What’s one swap you’ve made or want to try next?

Ever feel foggy, tired, or moody… and reach for coffee or a snack—when what you really needed was water? 💧

Your brain is around 75% water, and even mild dehydration can lead to:
🌀 Fatigue
😖 Headaches
😠 Irritability
🌫️ Brain fog

Hydration helps you stay clear, calm, and energized—naturally.

Here are 3 simple ways to hydrate more consistently:
🫧Keep a bottle you love nearby
🍋Infuse water with herbs or fruit
⏱️Sip before meals or when switching tasks
🥥🧂Add in electrolytes- this is so important
🧊Drink enough: take your body weight in lbs and divide that in half—that is how many ounces you need to drink at minimum

🧠 Your brain will thank you!

💬 How do you remember to drink more water? Drop your favorite tip below!

Sunlight isn’t something to fear—it’s something to respect.

I believe in getting daily, intentional sun exposure on my skin for vitamin D, mood, and immune support. But I also believe in non-toxic protection when needed.

Many conventional sunscreens contain ingredients linked to hormone disruption, skin irritation, and even coral reef damage.

🌿 Instead, I use mineral-based sunscreen with zinc oxide, skip the synthetic fragrances and carcinogens, and let my skin get sun in smart ways:

☀️ Get Sun on your bare skin in the early morning or late afternoon
👒 Hats and shade during long exposure
🧴 Mineral sunscreen only when needed

🌸 My current faves:
→ wonderscreen
→ mineral sunscreen
→ holi (soleil) mineral sunscreen
→ mineral daily spa
→ mineral sunscreen

Let’s stop fearing the sun—and start getting smart about it.

☀️ Summer break is almost here (or already here for some)!!! and while the kids may be ready to relax, parents are still juggling everything.

As a health teacher and wellness educator, I know how easy it is to put your own needs on hold—but a few gentle habits can help you feel better while showing up for your family.

Here are 5 realistic wellness tips for parents this summer:

🧘 Start your day with 5 quiet minutes
💧 Hydrate consistently (and model it for your kids!)
📅 Create soft structure to support rhythm, not rigidity
🍓 Keep snacks nourishing and simple
🧠 Don’t forget—your mental health matters too

You don’t have to do it all perfectly. Just keep coming back to what supports your energy, presence, and peace.

💬 What helps you feel grounded during summer break?

Here’s the thing about snacks: when they’re balanced, they work with your body—not against it.

Most ultra-processed snacks spike your blood sugar… then crash it. The result? Mood swings, energy dips, and that “hangry” feeling.

As a teacher, wellness educator, and spoonie (IYKYK), I need snacks that are realistic, portable, and keep me stable. Here are a few I actually eat:

🥩🥭 Clean-ingredient meat sticks + unsweetened dried fruit
🍎🥜 Apple slices + nut butter (or nuts)
🥕🥒 Veggies + hummus or guac

These combos give you:
 ✅ Protein
 ✅ Fiber
 ✅ Fat
 ✅ Steady energy

✨ It’s not about perfection—it’s about feeling good in your body.

💬 What’s your go-to snack that keeps you energized and clear-headed?

Let’s talk sleep—for you and your kids.

Sleep is when the brain resets, the body repairs, and the nervous system finally gets a break. But with screens, stress, and shifting routines, quality rest can be a challenge for the whole family.

Here are 5 ways to set healthy sleep habits this season:
🕰️ Stick to a regular bedtime/wake-up window
📱 Limit screens before bed (blue light = brain alert mode)
🧠 Teach kids/teens why sleep matters for their mood + focus
🌿 Use calming bedtime rituals (snuggle, journaling, stretching)
🛏️ Create a cool, dark, quiet sleep environment

Good sleep supports better behavior, improved mental health, stronger immunity, and way more patience—for everyone.
