Comfort during massage matters. 🌿

I originally made this little video to train our massage therapy team at Oceanside Healing Center, but thought our patients might appreciate seeing it too.

For massage, the Body Support Cushion provides comfortable, supportive positioning while lying face down and can make a wonderful difference for people who find traditional prone positioning uncomfortable.

Interestingly, in my acupuncture practice, I treat primarily face up—so this particular setup is all about giving our massage clients the most comfortable experience possible.

It’s one of those small details behind the scenes that can make a big difference in how your body feels on the table.

As summer gives way to autumn, nature reminds us of the beauty of change.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, autumn is associated with the Metal element, the Lungs, and the practice of letting go of what no longer serves us.

This season invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, nourish our bodies, and create space for new beginnings.

Well… my classmate sent me this photo! 😂

Yes, that’s me under all those needles.

This was one of the more intensive facial acupuncture treatments I received during my Advanced Facial Acupuncture training in Boulder.

And here’s the funny part: I was completely calm and relaxed.

Facial acupuncture can look a little dramatic in a photograph, but the experience can be remarkably peaceful. The treatment is individualized, and at 70+, I especially love exploring how acupuncture can support mature skin, facial muscles, circulation, and overall facial vitality—without trying to erase the life that has been lived in our faces.

I came home from this training with so much new knowledge, inspiration, and respect for just how sophisticated facial acupuncture can be.

And yes… apparently I make a very good pincushion. 😊

Continuing education in beautiful Boulder, Colorado! 🏔️✨

I spent an inspiring weekend in advanced, hands-on facial acupuncture and microneedling training with internationally recognized educator and author Michelle Gellis Michelle Gellis, AP.

We explored refined facial-acupuncture techniques, facial motor points, microneedling, facial cupping, gua sha, safety, and whole-body approaches that support the health and appearance of the face from within. We also worked with facial acupuncture techniques used in the treatment of Bell’s palsy.

I’m excited to bring these advanced techniques home and incorporate them into my facial-rejuvenation treatments at Oceanside Healing Center.

Even after many years in practice, I still love learning, refining my skills, and discovering new ways to help my patients look refreshed, feel deeply relaxed, and age naturally.

Today I started reading Treating the Face: A Comprehensive Guide for Acupuncturists and Health Professionals by Michelle Gellis, and I couldn’t be more excited.
Even after more than 20 years in practice, one of my greatest joys is continuing to learn. Every book, every course, and every patient teaches me something new.
This September I’ll be traveling to Boulder, Colorado, to study with Michelle Gellis in her advanced facial acupuncture program, and this book is the perfect way to begin preparing.
My passion has always been helping people feel healthy, vibrant, and confident—not by chasing perfection, but by supporting the body’s natural ability to heal and age beautifully.
I’ll be sharing pearls of wisdom and practical insights as I read, so if you’re curious about facial acupuncture, holistic skin health, or the incredible connection between inner wellness and outer radiance, I’d love for you to follow along.

🌺 A moment of gratitude at the end of a beautiful day. 🌺

Today, a patient/friend brought me faux plumeria blossoms from Kauai. Another patient/friend sent me a text that simply said:

“I feel so good, I could fly away.”

As an acupuncturist, those are the moments that stay with me.

The truth is that my patients teach me as much as I teach them. We celebrate victories together, navigate challenges together, and over time many become dear friends.

My heart is full tonight.

Thank you to every person who has trusted me with their healing journey. It is an honor I never take for granted. 💕
