Know your status. ❤️

June 27 is National HIV Testing Day, a reminder that getting tested is one of the most important steps you can take for your health. HIV testing is quick, confidential, and available Monday through Friday at your local health department.

Whether you've never been tested before or it's time for routine screening, we encourage you to visit your local health department and know your status.

This Men’s Health Month, the Irwin County Health Department is encouraging the men in our community to make their health a priority. 💙

Amanda Landon, BSN, RN, created a special display to help raise awareness about the services and resources available at the health department. Whether it’s preventive care, screenings, or health education, we’re here to support healthier lives.

We invite you to stop by, ask questions, and learn more about the services available to them.

Mosquito season is here🦟 Make sure you take steps to protect yourself and your family from mosquito bites this summer.

• Remove standing water around your home (like buckets, tires, flower pots, and bird baths)
• Use insect repellent containing DEET or picaridin
• Wear long sleeves and pants when outside during peak mosquito times

These small steps can help reduce bites and lower the risk of mosquito-borne illness.

Even the best “doggy paddle” isn’t a substitute for water safety 🐶💦

Never swim alone and always keep close watch on children near water. Avoid distractions like phones while watching swimmers, and make sure weaker or inexperienced swimmers use a life jacket when needed.

Stay alert and stay close, because water safety matters for everyone.
