The ABCDE’s of melanoma are a guide to identifying suspicious moles that may indicate skin cancer.

A - asymmetry, meaning one half of the mole does not match the other.
B - border, if the edges are irregular, ragged, notched, or blurred that is something to pay attention to.
C - color, the color being non uniform and having different shades of brown, black, or patches of pink, red, white, or blue.
D - diameter, if the spot is larger than 6mm across
E - evolving, meaning the mole is changing over time.

Regularly checking moles for these warning signs can help detect melanoma early, when it is most treatable.

Do yourself and your skin a favor - Come in and GET CHECKED. The majority of skin cancers are treatable if caught early - DO NOT put your skin checks off.
