Have you ever had something happen to you as a child---which so impacted you that it followed you the rest of your life?? I understand, That happened to me.
Around 9 years of age, I hit a big rock while bike riding, fell on my face with my front teeth coming thru my lip, and chipping off into an inverted V. That left me with a scar on my top lip, a lisp, and not wanting to have people look at me so kept my head down and READ all the time to escape having to interact with people. With a Dutch-boy haircut, I felt so ugly.
I carried that "ugly" perspective around with me until just a few years ago, when someone broke through my cocoon and said it was okay to let go of that little girl perspective and look at who I really was.
So if you are feeling like you are still bound by something that happened to you as a child, sometimes it helps to have someone hold a mirror up to you. Then you can see it's okay to let go of that thinking or perspective as it no longer serves who you are now and is really just holding you back.
I share about this in my book. You can go to www.sueheathbooks.com and get your own pre-ordered copy. Come out to my book launch and I'll have it ready and autographed for you! Nov. 9th, 6:30 to 9PM at Keystone Bible Church, 10925 Tarpon Springs Rd,, Odessa, 33556.
Hope to see you there!!
Sales of my book are funding my next trip to Africa in 2019.
