MCH kicked off the first week of school last weekend with our first Car Seat Safety event! 🚗👶

We want to give a big shout out to everyone who helped with this event, including:

MCH and these organizations were able to help a total of 35 children/families, and replaced 26 car and booster seats. 👏💙🧡

💙🧡 NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING MONTH 🧡💙

August is National Breastfeeding Month and we want to recognize our incredible Lactation Nurses at MCH! 👏👏

Allison Brunner, Tristian Benally, Kimberly Benavidez, Melanie Rodriguez and Anai Romo

They are a dedicated team that support, educated and empower women through their breastfeeding journey – including monthly in-person monthly childbirth and breastfeeding classes before delivery, personalized support during your hospital stay immediately following birth, and lactation consultations and follow-ups after discharge.

They also offer Baby Café every Wednesday from 10 a.m. – Noon, providing a welcoming space for families to receive guidance, establish feeding goals, and develop a feeding plan that works best for mom and baby. 👶🤰

We are lucky to have this team of Lactation Nurses at MCH! 💖

🟦🟧 JUNIOR VOLUNTEERS BANQUET & AWARDS 🟧🟦

The summer brought 91 active junior volunteers to MCH to assist staff on floors, greet and es**rt guests of the hospital and observing in different areas for their medical interests. They gave over 5600 hours of service this summer and were a shining light to those who came in contact with them! 👏👏

On Thursday, August 6th, the JVs were treated to a celebration at Urban Air where they competed in various events and enjoyed time with their new friends. The JVs were then honored at an awards ceremony and lunch on Friday, August 7th.

Congratulations to these young, future healthcare leaders for their kindness and service! We'll miss having them around our campus as they head back to school! 💙🧡

Get screened at our FREE Community Diabetes Clinic at our new location at 840 W. Clements St. every Wednesday!

The clinic is FREE and is for initial diabetes diagnosis and basic treatment for people who DO NOT have insurance OR a primary care provider. No appointments necessary. Walk-ins during our open hours are welcome!

It's open TODAY and every Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.!
