💙 Remembering Sergeant Daniel Valenzuela Jr.

Today, the Ector County Hospital District Police Department honors the memory of Sergeant Daniel Valenzuela Jr., who was tragically killed alongside his father, Daniel Valenzuela Sr., and his grandmother, Andrea Iglesias Uvalle, in a devastating collision on September 26, 2021, in San Antonio, TX.

Sgt. Valenzuela was a dedicated 13-year veteran of law enforcement, spending the last seven years of his exemplary career protecting and serving our community with the ECHD Police Department. He previously served the communities of Lamesa and Crane County.

He was instrumental in all aspects of our department and to Medical Center Health System. More than an outstanding police officer who worked with the utmost integrity and professionalism, Daniel was a true friend, a phenomenal colleague, a devoted husband, and a loving father to his four children.

His loss left a profound void in our hearts and our agency, but his legacy of service, kindness, and dedication will never fade.

🟦🟧 SURGICAL TECH WEEK 🟧🟦

It is National Surgical Technologists Week and we want to recognize the significant contributions and hard work of our very own surgical technologists, who play crucial role in the operating room and patient safety. 💙🧡

These incredible men and women help prepare the operating room for surgery, sterilize equipment and make sure there are enough supplies, ready patients for surgery, and help surgeons with instruments and supplies during operations among many other tasks.

THANK YOU to all of our Surgical Techs for what they do every single day! 👏👏

Our NICU at the MCH Center for Women & Infants recently celebrated a BIG graduation for this little angel who had been here 47 days! 👩‍🎓

Se was born at 28 weeks and is finally heading home! Our staff will miss her, but are so glad she'll now be at home with family! 🙏🙏

Our Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy teams work together every day to help patients recover, adapt, and reach their goals. 💙👶 NEONATAL THERAPY WEEK 👶🧡

For Neonatal Therapy Week, we wanted to recognize our two therapists in the NICU -- Airesh Peregrino, PT and Jalynn McDowell, OT! 👏👏

From supporting feeding and development to promoting movement, positioning, sensory regulation, and developmental milestones, neonatal therapists are an essential part of the NICU team. We want to thank Airesh and Jalynn for their dedication, collaboration, and commitment to giving every baby the best possible start.

In addition to their normal duties, these two also help prepare, coordinate and photograph the adorable NICU babies for special holidays and occasions that you see right here on our social media pages. Their expertise and knowledge of each baby and how to conduct these photo sessions without disturbing each baby's specific situation and routine is paramount -- and they do it happily and with the purest kindness in their hearts.

Thank you, Jalynn & Airesh! The NICU, these babies, and their families appreciate you so much! ❤️

Get screened at our FREE Community Diabetes Clinic at our new location at 840 W. Clements St. every Wednesday!

The clinic is FREE and is for initial diabetes diagnosis and basic treatment for people who DO NOT have insurance OR a primary care provider. No appointments necessary. Walk-ins during our open hours are welcome!

It's open TODAY and every Wednesday from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.!
