A Return to the Living World (Ojai Herbal Retreat Evolution)
Over the past 9 years, we gathered indoors for the Ojai Herbal Symposium. It was a beloved tradition, but something became clear: the magic was happening outside in the gardens and on the paths.
So this year, we’re returning to that essence. We’ve reimagined the gathering as the OJAI HERBAL RETREAT — an immersive, spacious, and connected experience.

On May 30, 2026, we’ll gather on the forested grounds of the Krotona Institute. This isn’t a packed schedule meant to overwhelm; it’s a day designed to bring you back into rhythm.
You might find yourself:
Walking with others who share your curiosity for plants.
Pausing to taste, smell, and meet the living world around you.
Sitting in conversation with someone who feels instantly familiar.
This is what the Retreat is about:

We’ll open with a blessing from Chumash Elder PATRICK TUMAMAIT — grounding our time in respect, lineage, and place.
