I was privileged to start my week by speaking to the future leaders of Okeechobee County at the Okeechobee Junior Leadership Camp hosted by the Okeechobee County Economic Development Corporation.

I've spoken to many different audiences throughout my career, but this one may have been my favorite. The curiosity, engagement, and thoughtfulness these students brought to our conversation left me feeling hopeful about the future of our community.

The Jessica Lea Case

Following reports of increased emotional awareness, healthier coping skills, and citizens suddenly using phrases like “let’s process that,” the Education Foundation of Okeechobee has officially issued a warrant for Jessica Lea of Waves of Change Mental Health and Wellness Services.

Authorities believe Jessica has been operating a highly effective operation focused on breaking mental health stigma, encouraging emotional healing, and making therapy conversations entirely too normal throughout Okeechobee County.

💙 Investigators report the suspect is especially known for calmly saying, “I’d like to challenge that thinking,” moments before citizens suddenly begin reevaluating their entire emotional support system. Witnesses say many residents entered conversations believing they were “totally fine,” only to leave emotionally validated and questioning several life choices.

Officials also confirmed Jessica has been repeatedly spotted encouraging healthy boundaries, self-awareness, and open conversations about mental health while somehow making people feel both deeply supported and gently called out at the same time.

⚠️ Citizens are advised the suspect remains active throughout the community. Exposure may result in emotional growth, improved coping skills, setting boundaries for the first time in your life, and suddenly realizing your therapist may have had a point.

The last several weeks have been incredibly full, and I’m deeply grateful for the many opportunities to serve my community in meaningful ways.

From training alongside Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office sworn and non-sworn personnel in Struggle Well, to teaching the first Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Power in Peers course on the Treasure Coast focused on positive psychology and peer support, this season has been filled with growth, connection, and purpose.

And to top it all off, I’ve had the privilege of watching the team at Okeechobee Healthy Start Coalition, along with many dedicated community partners and stakeholders, bring an incredible vision to life as we welcome the MOM Mobile to Okeechobee for the very first time — TODAY!

Grateful for every person, partnership, and opportunity to make a difference together. 🩵
