Open Hands will be hosting a new book discussion soon. We will be reading together "Joyful Surrender" by Elisabeth Elliot. "In our age of instant gratification and if-it-feels-good-do-it attitudes, self-discipline is often overlooked." Prayerfully consider joining us as we learn together how we can experience freedom and happiness in
Divine surrender. Books can be purchased online through amazon or most book websites. We will begin meeting on Monday, October 19th from 1:30pm to 2:45pm. If you have any questions you can call us at 863-357-1257. Praying we see old friends and meet new friends! 🤗

Are you ready to Run the Race of Life! Open Hands Health Center will once again host the 5K/10K race on November 21st at 7am.

There are many ways you can participate. Would you prayerfully consider sponsoring our race, organizing a team, and/or participate individually as a runner? Everything you need to know about the race you will find on the posted flyers here on our page (Don't forget to subscribe to our page, too, so you will be kept up-to-date on what God is directing us to do at Open Hands, all for His glory!) You can register online at runsignup.com and search open hands 5/10K. We hope and pray to see old friends who have run the race with us in previous years, and new friends that will be joining us for the first time. "In whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jeus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." Colossians 3:17

Ladies, at our next discussion as we read through "A Good Old Age" together, we will be talking about V is for Victorious! We engage in a spiritual battle from the moment of our new birth until our death and entry into God's presence. Join us as we learn how to fight this battle according to God's Word, and live a victorious life. By His grace, we can do it. You are all welcome to join us even if you have not been to the previous discussions and no matter your age. "The value of these pages goes far beyond encouaging senior citizens." (Sinclair B. Our next free Biblical Seminar will be "Humility in a Proud World". True humility is not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. It means serving others with the love and grace that Christ showed first. How can we live this out in a world that encourages self-love, fame, and personal power? Join us on Monday, September 21st from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at the Big Lake Baptist Association office as we learn together.
