💧 Happy National Hydration Day! 💧

Staying hydrated is one of the easiest ways to protect your health, especially during Oklahoma's hot summer months. Don't wait until you're thirsty, drink water throughout the day to help prevent heat-related illnesses.

💦 Hydration Tips:
✅ Carry a reusable water bottle
✅ Drink water before, during, and after outdoor activities
✅ Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning
✅ Avoid excessive caffeine and sugary drinks when spending time in the heat

Remember: If you're working, volunteering, exercising, or enjoying outdoor activities, make hydration part of your preparedness plan!

Stay cool, stay safe, and stay hydrated!

Take a few minutes today to update those car emergency kits for summertime, because it's already HOT out there!!! 🥵

It's time to refresh your emergency car kit! ⚠️

Swap out heavier items for thinner layers, replenish your first aid kit and stock up on fresh batteries and water.

Pro-Tip: Don’t leave plastic water bottles in a scorching trunk for months — swap them out regularly for fresh ones, or grab a few shelf-stable water pouches instead. ⤵️

Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Flash flooding will be possible again today, primarily in eastern Oklahoma, as heavy rains continue to move through the state. A flood watch remains in effect through this afternoon and evening depending on location.

Stay and out of flood waters! 🌊 🚧 🚗 ↪️

⚠️ Never drive on flooded roads or around barricades - almost half of flood deaths happen in vehicles.
⚠️ 6 inches of water is enough to cause you to lose control of your vehicle.
⚠️ Don't walk, swim, or play in flood water - water can sweep you away or carry hazardous materials.
‼️ Report damages to homes or businesses online at damage.ok.gov.
