We are on cycle 8 | day 2/5 this week🎗️💛

Baker DID make count this week 🙌🏼 PRAISE

All weekend we have been struggling with stuffy nose and “allergy” symptoms. So while he did make count Monday, his numbers dropped significantly from 7 days ago. I’m talking several thousand. Platelets and blood have also lowered. This doesn’t particularly mean anything major, but there’s a possibility of needing blood and platelets this week. 🩸

🥺We knew this was going to be a rougher week because of allergies and immune system going down. But truly he is so tired. He’s nauseous. Throwing up. Nothing sounds good to eat. So he’s not eating. He’s just not feeling great. 😔 we haven’t made it to the hospital or back home without a puke bag being used 😞

His blood is officially being sent off for research, with Februarys sample, up to now. 🎗️
They took 30 mils of blood monday for genetic testing, gene testing, his research teams ect. We won’t know these results for several more weeks.
Baker’s cancer is rare, and the truth is, there is still so much that we don’t know.
We are learning as we go. His doctors are learning. Researchers are learning. There are still so many unanswered questions.💛🎗️

Cycle 8 day 15 | 194 days fighting childhood cancer🎗️

Baker received vincristine today and had great labs🙌🏼
He had so much fun finding all the mini creatures that anther little boy, also fighting (his last treatment is today💛🎗️)puts out for the littles to find. He hasn’t been there for a while but Baker looks every week for them🥺 something so small makes his day and honestly I have just as much fun finding them with him🥺💛 we will have to show our collection 🤭

His labs are the highest they have been ever, which truly shocked me with starting school so I’m SO happy to know his body is doing what it needs to and fighting to stay strong💪🏼

Side effects are very minimal on quick chemo weeks. He’s tired but other then that he’s doing well🫶🏻

We did find a tick on him this morning so we have that bagged and saved and also keeping an eye on it, they are not to concerned but obviously it’s something to keep an eye on.

This next week we will be there everyday for chemo so he will not be going to school at all that week.

Baker rested well last week till Thursday which was his first day back at school since diagnosis 😭🙌🏼
He was completely wiped and stayed home Friday which we totally expected. He got in the car and told me “it wasn’t that bad” 😂
He received “quick chemo” today and rested the remainder of the day💛 He does plan on going to school tomorrow 🥺 he says “he’s excited but might want to stay home” 😂😂

🏈💛Football starts Saturday and there’s a part of me that’s not ready to see him sit on the sidelines and watch his team play, Knowing he wants to be out there too. But I also know how powerful a team player is. How someone cheering loudly makes a difference in the game. Baker gets to be a loud cheerLEADER this year and we get to watch the game and sportsmanship in a different form. 🥺 I’m so proud of him always, on or off the field.

All the books were purchased on his wishlist for his class and he’s so excited to bring them to school tomorrow 🥰 I’m going to add the second batch for the school library so all the kids can have access. Thank you so much for making my boy not feel so alone. Truly. I know it seems so small and not a big deal, but watching your boy eyes light up reading a book about kids, just like him matters. So so much. Thank you🥺💛

🎗️Going into this week I just want to pray a shield of protection over him. That germs resist his body and he can continue to go to school, receive chemo, play and see friends, and just be a kid.

🎗️This is Our need list for right now.
The wipes, water bottles are for school.
The books are also for his class room. I would like to provide his class friends helpful books that educate and answer questions they will have without it being scary for them. We have most of these and they have been amazing for all my kids. 🫶🏻
I tried to add them twice because honestly I’d love to provide the school library these as well so that all kids in the school can learn about them!

🎗️Baker made count Monday, so we spent all day at the hospital, didn’t get back home until practically midnight.

This is cycle 8 of his mapping and received 3 harsh chemos and 2 mesna drips. After the 3rd round he was pretty wiped and laid in bed the remainder of the evening💛 I was so thankful he got to see his little bestie that morning and play with her some before treatment started.
It makes me nauseous seeing the life drain out of him on days like these 🥺😭 He fights HARD to stay as independent and active as he can until he asks to lay down.

Yesterday his activity remained the same.
No energy.
The heat is also killer and he can’t spend anytime outside hardly at all right now, no more than 20 minutes. It’s just TO hot. He misses laying in the hammock watching the birds eat he says 🤣🥺💛
Appetite is still down. He’s not losing weight. But he’s not gaining. Nothing sounds good most the time. Or he eats small amounts. 😔
Some nausea here and there but it’s getting better🙌🏼

Today he’s had more energy. He’s had a lot of excitement today which we can’t wait to share tomorrow. 🤭💛🎗️

He’s resting some right now, but he’s more like Him today then yesterday 🥺

I’ve meet a couple of you this month and I just want to say thank you for coming and saying hi.
The fact that strangers I don’t know are praying over my son and my family means more to me then I can put into words🥺
💛This year has truly been devastating in ways no parent should feel. But it’s brought a lot of Faith and Hope into so many lives already🎗️Hearing how Bakers story has touched you brings tears to my eyes and I replay those conversations often in my head.

Some days are harder then others 🎗️

Today was anther hard day of hoping he would make counts…..and anther day of hearing he didn’t. 😔

It’s hard to explain the heartbreak of waiting, praying, and believing, only to leave with anther delay. We know his body is doing what it needs to do to heal, but that doesn’t make waiting any easier. ❤️‍🩹

So today we are feeling the weight of it. We’re disappointed. We are exhausted. But we do not give up. 🎗️

Please keep Baker in your prayers this week.
Please pray for counts to increase for Monday. Pray for strength in his body and peace while we wait for the next opportunity to continue treatment. 🎗️💛

🎗️Baker is completely done with radiation! His check up was a couple days ago and his skin is about 99% healed. ALL the ladies at the front desk were SOO happy to see him. There was no wagon ride so he was walking around which they never got to see because we showed up as early as 6AM most mornings and then he was still drowse from treatment so he was always in the wagon🥺💛🎗️

I know I mention last week about some side effects from both radiation and chemo we were struggling with, thankfully the nausea has dwindled but his appetite and weight are still fluctuating between 39-41lbs Given the time of day.
He is eating more in smaller batches right now more so mornings and nights. Hoping we can fix this into a normal routine again but honestly as long as he’s eating and not continuing to lose weight I’ll be okay.
The limping is still happening but not as often which makes me think it was a radiation side effect and not my biggest fear “worse case scenario” spreading…🎗️

Lab check is Tuesday. If he makes count we will be admitted for chemo Wednesday. 🎗️

💛🎗️Please please pray he makes count. 💛🎗️

💛He got to see his favorite nurse. He calls her “Meehgan” or “my girl”
My girl was because for a while he didn’t remember her name…only that it started with a M…so when he was waking up fully or when I’d wake him in the mornings I’d tell him who we were seeing and he’d most the time always say mmmm mmmy girl w his eyes closed.
Maegan saw us for 37 days almost. And was the one that most the time was holding my baby while he went to sleep. For 37 days she became his safe place there. Someone he knew he was going to see. Someone he could trust. 🥺💛
I could never personally tell her what she meant to me and Baker and really our whole family, I’d probably never stop crying. But I hope she knows. 🥺
She’s about to have her first baby, and I know she’s going to be the best mama💕🫶🏻

Thank you Jesus for sending angels to me during this storm. 😭🎗️

It’s been almost 6 months❤️‍🩹….we are still in the boat, it’s still rocking…and we are so ready to get off. 💛😭
