✨And for a few hours, our worries faded and his joy took over. Seeing Baker surrounded by so much love yesterday was the greatest gift ever this year.

Baker had a 3 weeks break from chemo and started back Monday🎗️💛
We figured we would see slight more side effects this week since his body would be pushed to the max, with both radiation and chemo. His first couple days were handled well but once we hit Wednesday we could see the toll already on his little body.
His skin is red and flakey and missing a couple layers on some areas but it’s healing extremely well. He’s not complained one time about how uncomfortable he is or if he’s in any pain. 🙌🏼

One of the side effects we thought we would be experiencing is diarrhea but we’ve gotten the opposite effect unfortunately. This is causing him more issues— Pain, gas, blockage, constipation and pushing back radiation because they do not have a clear line of view.
He’s been staying consistent with going to the bathroom so we were not prepared for him not to receive (radiation)treatment today. 😭
He’s extremely irritable. Everyday we have had trouble resetting feelings and frustration and of course I literally can not understand his needs when he can’t articulate them. It makes comforting very hard. 😭
He’s tired. Fatigue is starting to hit and I catch him nodding off but he quickly catches it and trys hard to stay awake. I’m so thankful for all the energy he does have and try hard to be present and ready to play when he’s ready🥺💕

Our next scan is in 14weeks…
That feels like such a long time but I pray over the results often. That his body is continuing to fight this disease and treatment continues to work. That his body is strong enough for each round and he fights like hell to be here.

•Biggest right now is p**p. A lot of it.
•fever and infection free
•nausea
•Maintain happy moods
•minimal pain
•Healing on skin and in body
•Treatment continues to work

This week was birthday week…he deserved to feel way better than he did.
But my baby is here. 🥺
And he’s doing so well considering the circumstances.

🎉 Help Us Celebrate Baker’s 5th Birthday! 🎉

This year, we want to make Baker’s birthday as special and normal as possible, and we’d love for our family, friends, community, and anyone who has supported him along the way to join us in celebration!

💙 Drive-Through Birthday Celebration
📅 Saturday, June 13
⏰ 6:00-7:00 PM
📍 We will update with a meeting point to start the line of cars soon. And if you don’t make it in the line of cars, we will be outside taking gifts until 7:00 PM

We will be stationed at the end of the driveway to greet everyone, collect gifts, and hand out cupcakes, water, and a few little goodies as our thank-you for helping celebrate Baker’s big day.

We encourage everyone to decorate their cars with balloons, posters, streamers, or anything festive! Let’s fill the driveway with love, smiles, and birthday wishes to remind Baker just how many people are cheering him on.

As many of you know, Baker is bravely fighting Group 4 Stage 4 Rhabdomyosarcoma. While this journey hasn’t been easy, we want his birthday to be filled with joy, laughter, and the feeling of being surrounded by a community that loves him. Because every child deserves to feel joy and excitement on their special day!

Whether you’ve known Baker for years or have simply followed his story and want to show your support, he would love to see you there. Let’s help make this birthday one him and his family cherishes forever!

Baker has completed radiation fraction 15 of 33 and is almost halfway done. 🎗️💛
So far he has handled everything very well, and up until last week had no side effects but very little irritation.
We have moved over to 1st degree burns on gut area and some new mild irritation on lower back.
His temperament has been extremely agitated, and lots of little things can set him off into a full meltdown for a hour. 🥺
Last friday he received a platlet transfusion before we headed into out long weekend. The weather was amazing and he enjoyed so much watching the rain and watering his flowers and letting go of his butterflys he raised☀️🦋
Energy wise he’s been doing well, this week he’s started becoming more exhausted as the day goes on and then gets a burst of energy before bed 🥺

Next week starts our longer week, 5 day chemo+infusions🎗️

Specific prayer request for this week💛
•His body continues to heal from radiation
•Minimal side effects
•He continues to have energy throughout the day
•Continues to make count for treatment next week

This life isn’t for the weak. And I truly mean that.
The only reason I’m able to walk this storm is the reminder we are not alone. Bakers not alone.
Gods holding him tightly when I can’t and covering our family in peace when times feel uncertain.💛

Baker made count yesterday for chemo today so after radiation we headed straight for admitting for the day and then well be here probably till 11pm💛🎗️
This is the harsh chemo and he has to stay extremely hydrated for these 4 rounds.

We have such a full weekend planned we are headed to Okana resort and waterpark that the Jimmy Everest Center is hosting for cancer family’s here at OU💛🎗️
Baker has been talking about it nonstop and the older 2 are so excited to play and spend some stress free time together 🥺 we are so happy that his nephrostomy bag is gone and he can fully submerge in the water and play like a normal kiddo 💛

We’ve spent most of today resting and sleeping😔

Taking this weekend off and can’t wait to show you all, all the fun we will have this weekend 🎗️💛

Baker turns 5 June 8th. 🎉I’m not sure what his birthday will look like this year but regardless of what happens he’s going to have the best week we can! He finished radiation that week as well 🎗️💛

Lots of people have been asking about ways to support us. We have a Gofund me some where I’ll pin when I can. But here’s his updated wishlist. He went through and picked out things for his birthday. I added some of his snacks he loves and some things we are running low on. If you’d love to send a hand written card I save every single one I receive. They mean a lot to me and I know they will to him when he’s older. DM me for our address and you can mail one. 💛💛

One of the ways that’s been a blessing and helpful is dinner. There are some days Baker and I don’t get back home till 5pm. Gift cards or even Walmart cards for easy freezer meals help so much. 💛
