🚨HIGH ALLERGY ALERT 🚨
🚨HIGH GRASS POLLEN 🚨

In Case You Missed It:

Hello Friday!

HIGH GRASS POLLEN; MODERATE MOLD LEVELS; LOW W**D POLLEN and LOW TREE POLLEN

Grass pollen has spiked in to the high range, and mold levels have lowered slightly, but remain in the MODERATE range. Pollens tend to take the spotlight in the summer, but mold can be a significant allergy issue as well -- summer rains, heat and humidity encourage mold growth -- even indoors. Here are some helpful tips to reduce indoor mold:

✅ Lower indoor humidity. The goal is to keep humidity below 45 percent, but below 35 percent is better.
✅For those who use humidifiers, the fluid reservoir should be cleaned at least twice a week to prevent mold growth. Air conditioners and dehumidifiers can also be a source of mold.
✅Prevent mold and mildew build up inside the home. Pay close attention to mold in bathrooms, basements, and laundry areas. Remove any sources of dampness.
✅Make sure rainwater drains away from the home. Remove leaves and dead vegetation near the foundation and in rain gutters

The AQI Forecast remains GOOD to MODERATE across the state. Be sure to stay and out there.

If you are struggling with allergies, we have good news -- we have opened up more appointment availability at our clinics. To schedule an appointment, or learn more about how we can help you with mold or summer grass and w**d allergies, call (405) 235 - 0040 today!

In Case You Missed it:

🌟 Summer Camp Ready: Keeping Kids with Food Allergies Safe & Having Fun! 🏕️

Campfires, canoeing, new friends, and a little independence. Every child deserves this classic summer experience, including those managing food allergies. With smart preparation and teamwork between families, allergists, and camp staff, your camper can enjoy a safe, worry-free adventure!

Here are a few key tips from our latest blog:

✅Ask the camp the right questions upfront (nurse on-site? Emergency plans? Staff epinephrine training?).
✅Get your paperwork in order: signed emergency action plan, up-to-date meds, and a recent photo.
✅Plan for mealtimes: go first in line, arrange allergen-aware seating, and remind kids never to share food.
✅Send two epinephrine devices, store them at room temperature, and ensure staff knows exactly where they are.
✅Teach your child to self-advocate — speak up early and know where help is.

“Don’t be shy about asking the camp hard questions – who’s trained, where the medications is kept, how fast EMS can get there. A good camp welcomes those questions. How they answer tells you a lot about whether your child will be safe there.” -- Dr. Maya N. Gharfeh, MD, MPH

A little advance planning can prevent a crisis and let your child focus on the fun!

Hello Thursday!

Finally a little relief -- MODERATE MOLD levels; LOW GRASS, W**D, and TREE POLLEN

The AQI Forecast is GOOD across the state today. Be sure to stay and out there.

Mold levels may have declined slightly, but mold can be a real allergy issue as well -- summer rains, heat and humidity encourage mold growth -- even indoors.
