Did you know that some wounds don't heal because of what's happening underneath the skin?

Poor circulation can prevent oxygen and nutrients from reaching a wound, making healing difficult—even when the wound is being treated properly.

That's why advanced wound care often involves looking beyond the wound itself.

At Allied Wound Care Center, we work closely with vascular specialists at OVEC (also within our center) to help identify underlying issues that may be slowing the healing process.

Healing starts with understanding the cause.

Many people think a wound just needs “more time” to heal.

But wounds that linger too long can sometimes point to a deeper issue like poor circulation, infection, or uncontrolled diabetes.

That’s why advanced wound care is about more than just treating the surface.

At Allied Wound Care Center, we look at the bigger picture to help identify why a wound isn’t healing—not just cover it up.

Earlier intervention can make a significant difference in healing and overall outcomes.

➡️Can I still use Home Health if I come to you for my Wound Care?⬅️

We hear this a lot:

“Can patients still have home health if they come to you?”

‼️Yes—absolutely‼️

We work alongside home health, not in place of it.

For patients who need advanced wound care (like debridement or specialized treatment), we provide that in our clinic—while home health continues supporting them at home.

It’s about giving patients the best of both, not choosing one or the other.

Better coordination = better outcomes.

Not all wounds are created equal. A wound is considered “non-healing” if it hasn’t improved in 2–4 weeks. This can look like: • No noticeable progress • Drainage that won’t stop • Increasing redness or pain • Wounds reopening after seeming to heal This is common with diabetes, poor circulation, or infection—but it doesn’t mean it should be ignored. The sooner the right care is in place, the better the outcome. If you’re unsure, it’s always okay to ask questions and explore options.
