✨2:30pm update✨

Mom is home safely and already out like a light in her recliner.

Surgery and the reconstruction both went smoothly.

Please give her a few days before trying to reach out so that she can rest.

Please keep her husband, Ken, in your prayers as he will be caring for her this week and she’s pretty stubborn and used to being the caretaker for everyone.

Thank you all for the overwhelming amount of love, prayers and support!

✨9:45 am update ✨
Surgery is going well!
They removed 3 lymph nodes. The expectation was 3-5 but the three “looked really good” 🙌
They will send them off for testing. Please specifically pray that no additional cancer is found after testing so that a second procedure is not required. The reconstructive surgery is in progress and we will continue to provide updates as we have them.
Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Debi Lynn is currently back in surgery. She’s been back about a half hour. They expect the procedure to be between 3.5-4 hours. Her blood count was a little low and they advised that a blood transfusion may be necessary. Please pray specifically for that because Mom was a little nervous. Nerves were high this morning but we know that The Lord has her wrapped in protection.
Thank you all for your prayers. Please keep them coming!
Will update more when we know more.

Heavenly Father,

We come to You tonight asking for Your peace, Your comfort, and Your healing hand over Debi Lynn as she goes into surgery tomorrow morning.

Please calm every fear, quiet every anxious thought, and fill her heart with the assurance that You are with her every step of the way. We ask that You guide every doctor, nurse, and member of her surgical team with wisdom, clarity, and skill. Let every decision be covered by Your hand.

Lord, we pray for a successful surgery, for complete removal of anything that should not be there, and for clean lymph nodes. We pray for protection over her body, strength for recovery, minimal pain, and healing that is swift and complete.

Please be with our family too… give us peace, strength, and faith while we wait. Surround us with Your presence and remind us that we are never alone.

We place her fully in Your hands, trusting You in all things.

In Jesus’ Heavenly name we pray,
Amen.

Tomorrow morning, our sweet mom will be having surgery at Hillcrest. She will be undergoing a double mastectomy with lymph node removal. If all goes well, it will be outpatient and she’ll be able to come home afterward.

We are asking for prayers tonight and tomorrow morning… for peace over her heart and mind, for wisdom and steady hands for her surgical team, and for complete protection and healing through every part of this process.

She is so loved, and we know the power of prayer is real. If you would like updates, please feel free to reach out to me (Cassie) or my sister Destinee, or feel free to comment here and we will do our best to keep everyone updated.

Thank you all for loving her, praying for her, and surrounding our family with support during this time. We appreciate it more than words can say. ❤️

Debi had her port placement today and everything went really well. We’re so thankful for a smooth procedure and a great medical team. One more step forward!

Next up is a full body scan on October 14, an echocardiogram on October 17 and a PET scan soon after. If everything stays on track, chemo will begin the week of October 20 — possibly even sooner.

She’ll be doing 18 weeks of chemo, every 3 weeks, with a treatment plan designed specifically to target her HER2-positive cancer. We’re so grateful for the care and attention she’s receiving.

There will be some side effects, but she’s prepared. A little humor helps too 🤩

We’re trusting God every step of the way. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We feel the love and are so grateful for each of you.

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14
