It’s a time to prioritize prevention, early detection, and healthier habits.

Men are often less likely to seek routine care, but regular checkups, mental health support, and healthy lifestyle choices can make a life-saving difference.

This month let’s encourage the men in our lives to take charge of their health.

NHSC clinicians are here to provide accessible, quality care in communities that need it most. Find care, start the conversation, and take the first step toward better health.

Today, NACHC President and CEO Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP, will take the stage at the Food is Medicine Conference (FIMCON) to share how Community Health Centers are leading the way in Food for Health.

From produce prescription programs and medically tailored meals to nutrition counseling and community partnerships, health centers have been integrating food into care for decades. In fact, Community Health Centers were prescribing food for health long before the term "Food is Medicine" existed.

With 17,000+ service sites serving 52 million patients nationwide, Community Health Centers are uniquely positioned to help bring Food for Health from promising pilots to sustainable, scalable care.

Free naloxone and fentanyl test strips are now available through the Oklahoma Mental Health & Substance Abuse vending machine located at the FHCSO Behavioral Health entrance in Tishomingo.

Anyone can carry naloxone and potentially save a life. In nearly 40% of overdose deaths, someone else was present. Having naloxone available gives bystanders the chance to respond quickly during an overdose emergency.

Fentanyl cannot be seen, smelled, or tasted, and many people do not know it may be present in substances. Test strips provide results within minutes and can help reduce the risk of accidental overdose.

FHCSO’s Medication Assisted Recovery & Support (MARS) Program provides compassionate, evidence-based treatment for adults 18+ in Johnston, Marshall, Coal, and Atoka counties. Recovery isn’t about facing it alone, it’s about having the right tools, guidance, and support.

Treatment works, and recovery is possible. About 90% of people with a substance use disorder who receive evidence-based treatment report improvement.
