Does your baby always look to the right? Do they tilt their head to the left while resting? Your baby might have a condition called, “Torticollis.”
Infant Torticollis is a condition where a muscle called the sternocleidomastoid is overly tight, causing a head tilt and sometimes turn. It Is common and easily treatable through education, exercises and other skilled PT techniques.
If left untreated It can result in a condition called Plagiocephaly, where a part of the baby’s skull becomes flattened because of prolonged pressure. It can also be the culpruate of delayed motor milestones because the effect of muscle Imbalance through the trunk and pelvis.
Early education and prevention Is the absolute best! We will always get our babies seen within 24 hours and you don’t need to wait for a script from your pediatrician, we will send them all of our notes If your baby ends up needing physical therapy
