The ride home after the game doesn’t always need a recap. Sometimes your kid already knows about the missed shot, the bad pass, or the time they spent on the bench. What they may need more is a reminder that none of it changes who they are. Their worth isn’t measured in goals, points, playing time, wins, or losses. And when sports start feeling like more pressure than joy, it’s okay to check in on what’s going on beyond the game.

A day off doesn’t need a to-do list. You don’t have to clean the whole house, catch up on every errand, answer those emails, and somehow become a new person by Tuesday. Rest can look like sleeping in. Sitting outside. Watching something you’ve already seen five times. Doing absolutely nothing useful for a while. If you have time to slow down this Labor Day, you’re allowed to actually use it that way. Rest doesn’t need to be earned first.

Take the rest if you can.

Every person brings unique strengths into the roomsometimes they just need a safe space to recognize them and step into their full potential.

Creating a supportive space for clients to discover those strengths is what drives Rachel Vrbas, a Marriage and Family Therapist currently under temporary licensure. Having spent years in community mental health working with people of all ages, from children to older adults, she holds a deep passion for walking alongside clients in their struggles and helping them live authentically.

Rachel works with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, family difficulties, self-esteem, and marital strain. Grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), structural family systems, and evidence-based couples care, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFCT) and Gottman Method techniques, she helps clients build practical coping skills, clarify their values, and improve overall dynamics.

She’s particularly passionate about helping people of all ages grow through healthier relationships, firmly believing that every individual and family possesses the potential to create lasting change.

Outside of the clinic, Rachel loves hitting the trail for a good hike, baking up something delicious, embroidering, or catching the latest release at the movies!

Looking for an encouraging, evidence-based space to heal, build confidence, and strengthen your relationships? Rachel is accepting new clients!

Your schedule is already full. Therapy shouldn’t require rearranging your entire life to make it work. The time, format, therapist fit, and how comfortable you feel all matter. Because support is a lot easier to keep showing up for when it actually works with your life. Finding what works for you might take some adjusting. That’s okay. Therapy is supposed to support your life, not become another thing making it harder.

But therapy can also be a space filled with warmth, creativity, and even a little humor.

That philosophy is at the heart of Allison’s practice as a Marriage and Family Therapist. After starting her career in behavioral and mental health, she discovered her passion in graduate school: helping people connect more deeply with themselves and the relationships that matter most to them.

Allison works with individuals, couples, and families navigating trauma, life transitions, identity exploration, relational hurdles, neurodivergences, and more. Using a trauma-informed and systemic approach-drawing from EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy-she often brings humor and creativity into the room to tailor each session to who you are.

She’s especially passionate about guiding clients to learn more about themselves, heal from past experiences, and build healthier, more connected relationships.

Outside of work, Allison loves spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, reading, going on walks, traveling, attending live music, and hanging out with her cat, Groot!

Looking for a warm, creative space to grow, heal, and better understand yourself? Allison is accepting new clients!

The car ride home can shape how young athletes remember their season. When kids hear they're valued for their effort, growth, and love of the game-not just the scoreboard-they're more likely to build confidence and enjoy playing. A few simple words can go a long way.
