At the start of my career, I was constantly in motion — achieving, pushing, producing.
I believed the faster I moved, the more I could accomplish.
My mentor used to tell me, “Slow down, Evelyn.”
But I didn’t understand what she meant… until my body made me listen.
Slowing down isn’t weakness.
Slowing down is awareness.
When I finally paused long enough to feel, I realized how many thoughts were running in the background — looping, stacking, overwhelming my system. It felt like my mind was running too many programs at once.
Karen used a brilliant analogy from German New Medicine:
The psyche is the software.
The brain is the hard drive.
The body is the receiver.
When too many programs are open, the system can’t respond.
It freezes.
It overloads.
It says: Not responding.
And the only way forward…
is to shut a few things down.
This episode is a reminder that healing isn’t just symptom treatment.
It’s understanding the deeper patterns, the emotional conflicts, the mental overload, and the messages your body has been trying to send you.
Your health is personal.
Your journey is powerful.
And it’s worth every step — especially the slow, intentional ones.
