Washington has officially arrived in Boston. 🌲✈️

WANA is proud to be representing Washington State at AANA Annual Congress 2026 alongside CRNAs and nurse anesthesia residents from across the country.

Over the next few days, we’ll be sharing Congress from the Washington perspective—education, advocacy, connection, and plenty of familiar faces along the way.

🌲🔥 Protect Your Lungs During Wildfire Season

As wildfire smoke impacts communities across Washington, taking a few simple steps can help protect your respiratory health:

💨 Check the AQI before heading outdoors
🏠 Keep windows and doors closed when smoke is heavy
🌬️ Use a HEPA air cleaner when available
😷 Wear a properly fitted N95 outdoors in heavy smoke
💧 Stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity
🫁 Pay attention to respiratory symptoms and reduce exposure if you feel unwell

Protect yourself, your family, and your community by staying informed and reducing your exposure when air quality is poor.

WANA extends our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to all of our CRNAs, nurse anesthesia residents (NARs), their families, and the many communities affected by the devastating wildfires across Eastern Washington, including the Spokane area.

We are deeply saddened by the immense destruction and hardship these fires have caused. To those who have had to evacuate or have experienced loss, please know that your WANA family stands with you. We pray for your safety, strength, and a swift resolution to these devastating fires.

If you have been impacted and are in need of assistance, or if you would like to support those affected, please consider connecting with local disaster relief organizations such as the American Red Cross, the Washington State Department of Emergency Management, or your local community relief efforts. Every act of kindness, whether through volunteering, donating, or simply checking in on a colleague or neighbor, can make a meaningful difference.

🗳️ WANA Election Spotlight: Bruce Andregg for the Board of Directors

Bruce Andregg is seeking election to the WANA Board of Directors, bringing decades of leadership and service to the association.

Bruce has previously served as Secretary, Treasurer, Finance Committee Chair, and multiple terms on the WANA Board of Directors. His longstanding commitment to WANA reflects a passion for strong leadership, fiscal responsibility, and advancing the CRNA profession in Washington.

A WANA member since 2009, John J. Fontana has built a career rooted in service, leadership, and patient care.

In addition to his work with Inland Pain Specialists, John has participated in multiple international medical missions to Haiti, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala, providing care to communities with limited access to healthcare.

His dedication to serving patients—both locally and globally—reflects a commitment to the values of our profession.

Kelli Camp has dedicated years of service to WANA and the CRNA profession. As a former Director, President-Elect, and current President, she has helped lead the association through advocacy, education, and strategic growth.

Her service extends beyond WANA, including leadership as Chair of AANA's Bylaws & Resolutions Committee, participation on numerous WANA committees, and active involvement in legislative advocacy—from Lobby Day to testifying before legislative committees. Kelli also has previously served her local community as a School Board Director and is a current Othello City Council member.
