01 AUG 2026 - Ray was finally discharged from the hospital and resting peacefully at Cheshire Home.

It was a rough week for Ray due to the multiple seizures he had after kidney stone surgery.

Doctors were able to get his medications adjusted and Ray is doing much better.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for Ray.

Also, a big thank you to everyone at Hackensack Hospital. We had a few scary moments with Ray. The responses to his seizures were quick and care administered immediately preventing any major issues.

28 JULY 2026 - Ray was feeling better this morning and was scheduled for discharge today.

Unfortunately, Ray experienced another very small seizure so they are keeping him overnight for observation.

With all of Ray’s surgeries, he has to stop all his medications the morning of his surgery. When you add in the anesthesia it sort of messes with his brain activity for 24-48 hours. Hence the lowering of all his vitals post surgery.

He is doing very well at the moment and resting peacefully.

27 JULY 2026 - Ray’s surgery went very well. His kidney stone was 12mm about the size of a small marble. He is looking forward to not having any more pain in his lower back.

Unfortunately, several hours after his surgery Ray starting having a seizure. His vitals all went high and all his monitoring went into alarm. The medical staff responded quickly and the seizure medication did its job and prevented a full blown seizure.

We can’t thank everyone here at Hackensack Hospital enough for the amazing care they are giving Ray.

Ray is very sedated now and his vitals are all normal. He is resting peacefully.

26 JULY 2026 - After battling an infection all month, Ray has finally been cleared for kidney stone surgery tomorrow.

Some good news - since Ray arrived at Cheshire Home he has gained over ten pounds! This is huge because just a few weeks ago there was talk of putting him back on a feeding tube.

Ray truly loves being at Cheshire and has made many new friends. The staff is amazing and very pro active in Ray’s medical care. Ray is also receiving out patient care at Kessler Institute. We are excited for the care plan they have for his future.

22 JUNE 2026 - Late post but last Friday’s surgery to remove Ray’s kidney stone was postponed. We will let you know new date once rescheduled.

So instead of having surgery last Friday, Ray and I turned it into a Jersey Shore day! He thought it was just the two of us but his brother Josh came up from Philly to surprise him! His friend Tony also showed up unannounced and Ray had a great day! Can’t wait to do it again!

14 JUNE 2026 - Ray is out of the hospital and it has been a busy few days for Ray. For almost the past year Ray has been on the waiting list for a rehab facility named Cheshire Home. It is a small 35 bed facility that specializes in brain / spinal cord injury patients. Cheshire is the Gold standard for brain injury rehab.

With that being said - Ray is now residing at Cheshire Home! Ray was beyond excited! He is hitting the ground running already getting involved in their intensive rehab program. This will be an absolute game changer for Ray.

What is a blessing for Ray is that the age of a typical Cheshire resident is 20-30 so Ray is finally around peers his own age.

It was a long road getting into Cheshire and we thank God for the amazing people He put in Ray's life to make this happen.

Ray has kidney stone surgery this Friday so please continue to keep him in your prayers.

05 JUNE 2026 - Ray is still here at Morristown Hospital resting peacefully in an actual room. The Infectious Disease Drs have really helped Ray get back to normal but still has a way to go.

During the past few days, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes with Ray’s future care. We are extremely excited with the care plan and when final approval is received we will gladly share the good news with everyone.

31 MAY 2026 - It was another rough day and night for Ray but today was a new day. His fever is under control and after numerous IV bags of fluids, Ray’s hydration levels are normal. He is still receiving antibiotics for his infection and will continue to have blood drawn to monitor his levels.

He is still in the ER awaiting a room for a follow up observation of his kidney infection recovery.

Now that his vitals are stable they will be addressing his digestive issues once again.

And…. I sound like a broken record but, Morristown hospital and staff are beyond amazing. The care Ray is receiving is 5 star plus! God bless them all!

30 MAY 2026 - Unfortunately, Ray is back in the hospital.

We arrived at the ER last night with Ray having a high fever, pre seizure symptoms and elevated vital readings. He was immediately put on IV medications. Numerous tests including blood work, X rays and Cat scans showed that the surgery on his kidney last week developed an infection. He is also once again dealing with digestive issues.

When Ray has infections his vitals all rise to semi dangerous levels. In the past, the strong medications to counter the high fever and infections tend to lower his vitals to an unsafe level but thankfully that was not the case last night.

The medications have his vitals at a fairly stable level and they are concentrating on his infection and digestive issues today.

It was a very rough night for Ray and he finally was able to fall asleep this morning.
