When you start to feel like yourself again, you hardly notice. You don’t notice because it’s familiar. It’s comfortable.

A little reflection goes a long way.

That grocery run you just made that you didn’t battle any symptoms? A win. A quiet win. A sign you’re making progress.

That morning you hopped right out of bed and it didn’t phase you? Progress…

You get the picture. The quiet wins are the most impactful.

Many people assume dizziness means low blood pressure or dehydration.

Sometimes it’s your vestibular system.

Which symptom sounds most like you?

1. Although the inner ear is in your skull, it has connections to the whole body as a sensory system and its reciprocal relationship with our nervous system

2. VOR is a critical job of the vestibular system, but it also helps us with spatial orientation, balance, and movement detection

3. IMO, VM is the #1 cause of dizziness

4. Ortho and neuro skills blend so beautifully to help build the best VRT plans of care

5. We all have some level of tolerance, or lack thereof 🤪. The vestibular system is no different

While those things can contribute, dizziness is often much more complex

Have you heard this before? What else have you heard?

I wish these weren’t common things I hear in my office, but here we are…

1) anxiety is part of it, but it’s not the sole problem

2) the epley maneuver is for a very specific type of BPPV. It does absolutely nothing for all of the other vestibular issues (vestibular migraine, PPPD, neuritis, etc)

3) vertigo is a symptom

4) VORx1 exercises have a time and place but shouldn’t be the only thing your therapist did with you

5) oof. There is absolutely something you can do about your symptoms. Come see me and let’s see just how much better you can feel!
