Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder that early testing saves lives.

Because Black women are more likely to face aggressive cancers, a recent study suggests Black women should begin screening about eight years earlier, around age 42, to help detect cancers that tend to appear sooner and grow faster.

That’s why organizations like the Pink Lotus Project, Nebr are so important. Founded in 2017 by breast cancer survivor Tisa Hardin-Partridge, the Pink Lotus Project Nebraska is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting African-American women diagnosed with breast cancer in the Omaha and Lincoln metropolitan areas.
