Had a little break in the morning, so you already know I had to go swing the clubs. ⛳️☀️

Beautiful weather, a little time outside, and some golf. Doesn’t get much better than that.

And as always, feel free to pick apart my swing 😂

Dry needling isn’t just about sticking needles into a sore spot.

I use dry needling as one tool to help decrease muscle tension, improve mobility, and make it easier for you to move the way you’re supposed to.

The goal isn’t just to make the area feel better for a few hours. It’s to figure out why you’re having the problem in the first place and use dry needling alongside movement, strength, and mobility work to address it.

Whether you’re dealing with:
• Low back or hip pain
• Shoulder or neck tension
• Tight muscles that won’t loosen up
• Sports-related aches and pains
• Limited mobility

Dry needling may be one piece of the puzzle.

At Precision Physical Therapy, we combine hands on treatment with individualized exercise so you can get back to what you love doing!

DM me if you want to see if dry needling could be a good fit for you!

First day of school for our littlest! 🥹❤️

His first day of daycare, and what better way to start it than having his big sister lead him into his room. 🥰

They grow up way too fast!

Right low back pain in a baseball player.

For rotational athletes, I want to look at how the hips, trunk, and thoracic spine work together to create and transfer force.

Here we’re targeting the posterior and oblique sling systems to improve hip stability, trunk control, and rotational strength so the lumbar spine doesn’t have to do more work than it should.

The goal isn’t just to make his back feel better. It’s to build a body that can handle the demands of throwing, hitting, and rotating without constantly dumping stress into the low back.

Build the system. Don’t just treat the symptom.

A little family time in the Black Hills this past weekend ❤️

A great reset, some quality time together, and a much needed break from the daily grind. But I’m ready to get back at it!

Huge thank you to all of my clients for working around my schedule while I was away. I appreciate you guys more than you know!

Back in the clinic and ready to get to work.

Let’s get after it!

Want to rotate better without dumping everything into your low back?

We’re working on the lead hip first.

Reverse lunge + med ball rotation challenges the lead leg to stabilize while the body rotates over it, similar to the demands of the golf swing.

Simple but effective.

The goal isn’t just to rotate, it’s to control where the rotation comes from.

With this half kneeling med ball chop, we’re working on core + hip stabilization and balance while teaching the body to use the glute and posterior chain instead of relying on the quad or low back for stability.

The goal: create rotation through the thoracic spine and hips while avoiding excessive extension and rotation through the lumbar spine.

This client has low back pain with golf, so we’re working above and below the lumbar spine to improve movement and reduce the amount of load being placed on it during the golf swing.

Better movement. Better stability. Less stress on the low back.

A strong lead leg post is more than just a golf swing detail, it can change what happens at the hip and low back.

If you can’t effectively get into your lead leg and rotate around it, your body has to find motion somewhere else, often the low back.

This drill emphasizes getting into the lead leg, posting up, and allowing the lead hip to rotate rather than letting the low back create all the movement.

A simple drill, but an important piece of an efficient golf swing.

Aaron has more shoulder internal rotation than the average person, so naturally, we had to investigate. 😂

During his TPI assessment, we found he has more shoulder IR than we typically see.

But here’s the catch: more mobility ≠ better mobility.

The goal isn’t to make every golfer move the same. It’s to understand how YOU move and how that may influence your swing.

And yes, he passed the shoulder mobility assessment!

Golf, great conversations, and a day on the range at the Pinnacle Bank Championship Pro-Am. ⛳️

Grateful to Tee Box and Perfect Fit Golf ⛳️ Luke Reifenrath•CPT•Owner for inviting Precision Physical Therapy to represent the team on the driving range.

It was a great opportunity to connect with golfers, talk about how the body influences the golf swing, discuss injury prevention and performance, and share everything Tee Box has to offer.

If you’re serious about improving your game, Tee Box is an awesome place to practice, train, and be part of the local golf community. I’m excited to continue helping golfers move better, swing better, and stay on the course.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat, we’ll see you out there again soon!
