Russell and Care Coordination Management Supervisor Stephanie Bailey have been working together for the last 13 years (8 years as his CCM at Southern Tier Connect, and 5 years as his Medicaid Service Coordinator at Delaware Opportunities).

Russell loves coffee, dancing, cruises, trains, tractors and staying busy out and about in the community.

Below is a picture from this month's 'Friends of Pete' lunch at Club 55 in Sidney!

Stephanie Bailey, Care Coordination Manager Supervisor, was able to meet up with STC member Scotti and his friends, including family, former school staff and their family, and former Medicaid Service Coordinator who all come together to share a meal once a month.

The group is called 'Friends of Pete' because Scotti, who is a big fan of nicknames, was given the nickname 'Pete' while he was still in school. Scotti has been meeting with the group on a monthly basis for over 20 years now!

Staff from the Hamden and Oneonta offices came together to help out with the Delaware Opportunities Back-to-School initiative again this year. We are always happy to help our community!

On 8/18, CCM Nick Becht, CCMS Stephanie Bailey, CCM Dominique Rockwell, and CCM Natalie Lent assisted with sorting supplies and packing backpacks for Delaware County students.

On 8/20, CCM Heather Price and CCM Shannon Hitt helped distribute the backpacks and other needed supplies to families.

It is always sad when we lose a care manager, but sometimes it allows people to reconnect.

When Garrett's care manager exited the organization, Stephanie Bailey, Care Coordination Manager Supervisor, volunteered to work with Garrett on a coverage basis.

Stephanie has a great relationship with Garrett and his mom, she worked with him for several years when she was a Medicaid Service Coordinator.

The pair shared an extra special visit earlier this month when Stephanie got to see Garrett (and his great sense of humor) at day hab. Garrett was so excited to catch up!

This Summer, STC’s Community Connection Committee (CCC) turned a simple idea into a meaningful way to give back.

Staff across our offices collected books to help stock Little Free Libraries in the communities we serve. The books catered to a wide range of ages, with a majority being for kids. In July, staff began taking those books with them while traveling for work, sharing the joy of reading with the communities throughout the catchment areas.

Every office came together to fill as many libraries as possible; the Norwich office filled libraries in Norwich, Oxford, Sherburne, South Plymouth, Bainbridge, and Afton; the Oneonta office stocked Cooperstown, Richfield Springs, and Fly Creek; and Hamden was able to fill the little library in Jefferson and the Utica office in New Hartford. The most rewarding part of this initiative was stopping back at the catchment areas later in the month and seeing that many of the books had found new readers.

Thank you to STC staff and the CCC for donating books and inspiring a love for reading throughout our communities!

If you are interested in donating or grabbing a new read, visit the Little Free Libraries catchment area map at littlefreelibrary.org

Today, we are recognizing two outstanding staff members of our Utica remote team, Kat Ingersoll and Monique Millard!

Working remotely comes with unique challenges, especially when building the everyday connections that naturally happen in a traditional office setting. Despite that, Kat and Monique consistently go above and beyond to support STC members and their team.

Kat has been with Southern Tier Connect (STC) for 3.5 years and continues to be an incredible asset to our organization. She is flexible, dependable, and always willing to step in to help with coverage whenever needed. Her supportive nature and positive attitude make a difference every day for members and coworkers alike.

Monique joined STC just over a year ago and quickly became an invaluable part of the team. She hit the ground running with her knowledge, communication skills, and dedication to member care. She is always willing to help where needed and consistently ensures that members receive timely, high-quality support.
Utica CCM Supervisor Beth Bierstine had this to say, “It has been a pleasure supervising both of them. They each bring different strengths to the team, and their dedication allows us to continue meeting our members’ needs with confidence and care.”

Thank you, Kat, Monique, and Beth, for everything you do for STC and the people we support!
