MENTAL WELLNESS MONDAY #2
💛 You Can Be Kind and Still Say No

Healthy boundaries do not require harshness.

Sometimes the most caring thing you can say is:

✔️ No, I can’t do that
✔️ I need time for myself
✔️ That doesn’t work for me

Boundaries are not rejection. They are communication. Learning to communicate your needs is part of caring for your mental wellness.

💭 Reflection Question: Which boundary statement feels hardest for you to say? Sharing is caring. 👇🏾 Drop your answer in the comments. Let’s support one another ☺️.

It’s back….

💜 YOU MATTER TOO, MOM. 💜

When was the last time you took a day just for YOU?

REST IS RESILIENCE!

As moms, caregivers, and women who pour into everyone else, we often place our own needs at the bottom of the list.

Join us for a day designed to help you breathe, reset, and refill through inspiration, practical wellness strategies, meaningful connection, and community support.

The You Matter Too: Moms Empowerment Summit was started in 2019 by Dr. Nicole L. Arkadie to provide moms with a space to pause, breathe, reconnect, and intentionally pour back into themselves. This is more than a conference. It is an emotional exhale for women.

This restorative wellness experience is intentionally designed to help moms calm the nervous system, restore inner peace, reconnect with themselves, and learn practical strategies to maintain emotional wellness in everyday life.

Throughout the day, attendees will participate in engaging breakout sessions and interactive wellness activities led by experienced moms, therapists, educators, and wellness professionals who are passionate about supporting women’s mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to explore our Wellness Collective of Vendors, featuring businesses and organizations offering products, resources, and services centered around self-care, wellness, healing, and personal growth.

The Arkadie Family Reviews of “The Breadwinner.” Trying to get my youngest to participate is tricky 😬.

I have about only 10 seconds to get my youngest to talk and give his feedback. He’s a man of few words, but his words are often profound, outside of movie reviews that is 😂🤣.

MENTAL WELLNESS MONDAY #1

Boundaries Are Self-Respect

Many of us were taught that saying “yes” makes us kind. But protecting your peace, honoring your time, and valuing your energy are acts of self-respect.

Every time you set a healthy boundary, you send yourself a powerful message: I matter too.

🌿 Wellness starts with honoring your needs, not ignoring them.

💭 Reflection Question: What is one boundary you need to strengthen this week?

💛 The Story Behind Why I Do What I Do

People often see the titles: Professor. Therapist. Speaker. Author. Business Owner.

What they don’t always see are the seasons when I was trying to balance it all while carrying the emotional weight of being a wife, mother, leader, caregiver, and helping professional.

Like many women, I became so focused on taking care of everyone else that I rarely stopped to ask myself what I needed.

I know what it’s like to keep pushing forward even when you’re tired.
I know what it’s like to believe that resting can wait.

I know what it’s like to put yourself last because everyone else seems to need you more.

That’s one of the reasons I created A & A Online Wellness Academy.

I wanted to create a space where women could access practical tools, encouragement, and support to help them prioritize their mental wellness before they become overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or burned out.

My mission is simple:

✨ Help women recognize the signs of emotional overload.
✨ Help women make themselves a priority without guilt.
✨ Help women create healthier, more balanced lives.
✨ Remind women that their wellness matters too.

If you’re reading this and you’ve been carrying a lot lately, let this be your reminder:

You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to wait until you’re overwhelmed to take care of yourself.

You Matter Too!

I’d love ❤️ to hear from you. What’s one thing you’ve been doing lately to care of your mental wellness??

👇🏾 Share your answer in the comments. Let’s encourage one another ☺️.

You Matter Too Series: #7

Rest is not laziness 🤎
Rest is care
Rest is healing
Rest is necessary

Too many women feel guilty for slowing down, especially Black mothers who are used to carrying everyone else emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically.

But constantly surviving is not the same as living well

Today’s reminder:
You do not have to earn rest
You do not have to break down before you pause
You do not have to prove your worth through exhaustion

Choose yourself today, even in small ways. ✨

Tenure & Promotion Celebration Series: Episode 1 🎉🦀

After years of pouring into students, scholarship, leadership, and community… it was finally time to pause and celebrate. ❤️

My husband took me out to try a crab house I’ve been wanting to visit in Rowland Heights, and let’s just say… good food, laughter, and gratitude were definitely on the menu. 🙌🏾

Here’s to celebrating the milestones we prayed for, worked for, and almost gave up on. More celebration moments coming soon. ✨

You Matter Too Series: #6

What if your self-care isn’t just helping you…
but helping the next generation too? 🤎

Children learn emotional wellness from what they see
They notice how we handle stress
How we rest
How we speak to ourselves
How we ask for help

Healing yourself can change what your children believe is normal

Breaking cycles starts with one woman deciding: “I matter too.” ✨

My ancestors fought and died so I could have the right to vote… so I refuse to sit this election out. ✊🏾🗳️

California’s Governor race matters. The top TWO candidates with the most votes advance to November, regardless of party affiliation. That means every vote truly counts.

If we don’t show up, decisions will be made without us.

As a social worker, advocacy is one of my ethical obligations. Voting is advocacy too.

You Matter Too Series: #5

Sis… you deserve wellness too. 🤎

Not just survival.
Not just pushing through.
Not just “holding it together.”

Real wellness. Real peace. Real support.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, I’m inviting you to pour back into yourself.

I’ve shared articles, wellness education, and support through A & A Online Wellness Academy because healing starts with giving yourself permission to matter too. ✨
