Such a fun day visiting Vail Innovation Middle School in the Vail School District! 🚁

AirEvac 8 had the opportunity to meet with students, answer questions about emergency aviation medicine, let them explore the aircraft, and even experience what it’s like to be loaded into the helicopter as a patient would.
A huge thank you to Principal Mikel Greene for the warm welcome and for creating such a great experience for the students and crew! 👏🚁

Proud to represent PHI Air Medical at the University of Arizona career fair alongside an incredible group of fellow Wildcat alumni professionals.

From the softball field to the flight line, it’s an honor to come back and connect with the next generation of student-athletes chasing big goals.

Grateful for the opportunity to give back, share experiences, and hopefully inspire a few future flight nurses, providers, and leaders along the way 🚁💪

🚁 AirEvac 8 out in the community!

We had an awesome time participating in the Amphi School District 5th Grade D.A.R.E. Field Day today! It’s always an honor to connect with the next generation and show them what we do. These students brought the energy! 👏

We were proud to stand alongside some incredible partners, including the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Army National Guard, multiple local law enforcement agencies, Golder Ranch Fire, SWAT team, Bomb Squad, and even the Scottsdale horseback units 🐎💥

🌟Rounding out the new clinicians at AirEvac 8 is flight nurse, Katie! With a strong background as a former PICU nurse, Katie brings critical care expertise, calm under pressure, and a heart for patients of all ages.

When she’s not flying, you can find her logging miles on a run, enjoying a well-earned donut, or spending time outdoors hunting and adventuring with her family. She’s also a busy mom of three awesome kids, and part of a true flight family, her husband is a flight paramedic 👩‍❤️‍👨

We’re excited to have Katie on board serving our communities now from the air! 💛🚁

🔥Meet another new member of AirEvac 8, Flight Paramedic Michael Hazlett!

With 11 years in EMS and 7 years as a paramedic, Michael stepped into flight medicine for all the right reasons: to push his limits, challenge his skills, and keep leveling up. Before EMS, he was racing motocross professionally, which explains the adrenaline addiction and the zero-fear attitude. 🏁💨

When he’s not working the skies, you can catch Michael:
-On the golf course
-Country dancing
-Dialed into sports
💵 And, of course… analyzing sports bets like he’s running his own in-flight sportsbook
⚡ All powered by an unhealthy but impressive love for Monster energy drinks.

Michael brings discipline, grit, and a passion for personal growth. He’s the perfect amount of chaos energy that every great flight paramedic needs. Welcome to the crew! 🚁 🖤
