✨ Paced Bottle Feeding: One Small Change That Can Make a Big Difference ✨

Did you know that how a baby is bottle fed matters just as much as what’s in the bottle?

Paced bottle feeding helps mimic the natural flow of breastfeeding, giving babies more control over their feeding experience. It allows them to eat at their own pace, recognize their fullness cues, and take breaks when needed.

💗 Benefits of paced bottle feeding:
• Supports healthy feeding habits
• Reduces the risk of overfeeding
• Encourages babies to recognize hunger and fullness cues
• Helps support breastfeeding when bottles are introduced
• Can improve comfort and digestion

How many moms see videos like this and immediately think, “Why am I not making that much milk?”

Here’s the truth: this milk was collected over multiple pumping sessions and multiple days.

Social media can make it seem like everyone has an overflowing freezer stash, but that’s simply not reality for most breastfeeding families.

A large stash is not a sign of being a better breastfeeder. In fact, many moms make exactly what their baby needs each day, and that’s normal.

If your baby is gaining weight appropriately, having adequate diaper output, and your pediatrician and IBCLC aren’t concerned, your supply may be right where it needs to be.

Please don’t let a 15-second video make you question your body.

Your worth as a mother is not measured in ounces.

❤️ Save this for the next time social media makes you doubt yourself.

Breast milk storage doesn’t have to be complicated 🤍
Saving this chart can take the guesswork out of those middle-of-the-night feeding and pumping sessions.

✨ Quick reminders:
• Freshly expressed milk can stay at room temperature for up to 4 hours
• In the refrigerator, it’s good for up to 4 days
• In a deep freezer, it can be stored for up to 12 months
• Once baby has started drinking from a bottle, leftover milk should be used within 2 hours

Remember, these are general guidelines. When in doubt, label your milk with the date and time pumped so you always know what to use first.

💗 Breastfeeding is hard enough. Knowing how to safely store your milk shouldn’t be.

The Koala Hold is one of my favorite breastfeeding positions, yet so many parents have never heard of it.

In this position, baby sits upright facing you, almost like they’re straddling your leg while nursing. It can be incredibly helpful for babies with reflux, fast milk flow, tongue ties, body tension, or babies who simply prefer being more upright during feeds.

One of the things I love most about the koala hold is how it allows baby to use gravity to their advantage while still maintaining a deep latch. It also gives parents another option when traditional positions just aren’t working.

Remember, there is no one “right” breastfeeding position. Sometimes finding the position that works best for YOUR baby can make all the difference.

Have you ever tried the koala hold? Let me know in the comments! 🤍

Breastfed baby growth can be surprising! ⭐️ Many parents don’t realize that weight gain naturally slows as babies get older.

Here are a few helpful milestones:

🤍 Most babies regain their birth weight by about 2 weeks of age
🤍 Most babies double their birth weight by around 6 months
🤍 Most babies triple their birth weight by 12 months

As growth slows, it’s normal for babies to gain weight more gradually than they did as newborns.

Instead of focusing on one weight check, look at the overall picture:
✔️ Following their OWN growth curve
✔️ Appropriate diaper output
✔️ Meeting developmental milestones
✔️ Feeding well and appearing satisfied

Remember: healthy growth isn’t always a straight line. Every baby is unique, and growth is about trends over time, not a single number on the scale.

Save this post for future reference and share it with a parent who needs this reminder. 💕

Ever wonder where all that milk goes while you’re nursing on the opposite side? 👀🥛

This little one found the answer.

While baby was breastfeeding on one breast, milk collected in the Silverette on the other side from a letdown. When the feeding was over, there was a little milk waiting inside...and baby was more than happy to help clean it up. 😂🤍

Silverettes are designed to help protect sore ni***es and support healing, but many parents are surprised by how much milk can collect in them during a feeding.

If you’re leaking a significant amount of milk during letdowns, you may want to consider a milk collection device so you can save those precious drops for later.

Did you know this could happen with Silverettes?
