When is it time for hospice? ❤️

It’s a question many families quietly ask themselves—and sometimes, they aren’t sure where to begin.

Changes like more frequent hospital visits, increasing weakness, loss of appetite, sleeping more, or needing additional help with everyday activities may be signs that it’s time to learn more about hospice care.

Knowing your options sooner can mean more time focused on comfort, support, and quality of life.

💙 September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers affecting men, and awareness can make a difference. This month, we encourage the men in our community—and the people who love them—to talk with their healthcare providers about their personal risk, family history, and when screening may be appropriate.

At Stonewood, we believe caring for our community also means encouraging conversations that can lead to earlier detection, better understanding, and greater support.

💙 Take care of yourself.
💙 Encourage the men you love to do the same.
💙 Keep the conversation going.

💙 HOSPICE MYTH: “I’ll lose my doctor.”

Choosing hospice doesn’t necessarily mean ending the relationship with the physician you know and trust.

Your physician may remain involved in your care while hospice adds a specialized team to provide additional support for you and your family.

**Keep the relationship. Add a care team.**

And don’t wait until a crisis to ask questions about hospice. Learning about your options earlier gives you and your family more time to make informed choices about the care you want.

Stonewood Hospice is always available to help you understand those options.
