Over the years, I’ve learned that people will tell you a lot if you create space for it.
What’s working.
What’s not.
Where they’re getting stuck.
What they need more clarity on.
But listening is only one part of it. What you choose to do after matters just as much.
Your team can tell when their feedback leads to something meaningful… and they can also tell when it quietly goes nowhere. Over time, that’s usually when disconnect starts to happen.
Leadership started to feel different for me when I really understood this.
Even small changes matter. Because when people see that their voice leads to something real, they stop feeling like they’re simply completing tasks.
They start feeling connected to the growth of the team and the mission behind it.
One of the most valuable things we can do as leaders is make people feel heard and show them that their input matters. 💬
