🇺🇸 Happy 4th of July everyone! 🇺🇸

Here are heatwave 🔥 safety tips if you have a baby:

Babies should stay indoors during a heat advisory!! Babies cannot sweat and a fan inside a covered stroller can make it even hotter. Use very light clothes and blankets and avoid tight swaddling.

Babies under 6 months old should not be given plain water, but they may need more breastmilk or formula during the summertime.

Make sure you are well-hydrated during hot days by drinking more water. Alcohol and heatwaves don’t mix!! Stay indoors and wait 2 hours per drink to breastfeed again to allow it to metabolize.

Sun exposure should be avoided under 6 months, which is when sunscreen can be safely started.

Use noise cancelling headphones for events that involve live music or fireworks to protect their little eardrums.

Never leave a baby unattended near any water no matter how small or shallow. Use a USCG approved life vest at all times when near water.
