CBD, You, and Your Pets and Animals
You know CBD is good for you for a wide variety of reasons. Well, it is also good for animals in the same ways for the same reasons, because all animals share the same innate Endocannabinoid System (ECS), and so will react much the same way as we do.
Like in us, CBD will help relieve pain, lower inflammation, reduce anxiety, and help sleep in your pets. And like us, the amount needed will vary somewhat per individual but will still be basically determined by weight. With most household pets, that would be 2 to 5 to maybe 20 or so mg.
More research is being published every day, adding to our understanding of how safe and how effective CBD is for helping us and animals. Two things to always be aware of though:
1.) Make sure the label says how much CBD is present. If it says h**p oil, that probably means H**p Seed Oil that has zero CBD. Nada, none, null CBD. So, ignore it if you are looking for CBD because it has none.
2.) There is some research that suggest CBD can interfere with some medications, changing how those meds are metabolized like grapefruit juice does with blood thinners for example. There is almost no research on any similar CBD reactions so no one can say for sure, but if your pet is on a blood thinner at least be aware and ask your vet before starting CBD.
