When the Healer Heals
There comes a season when the healer stops reaching outward and disappears into the cave of their own becoming.
Not because they stopped caring.
Not because they lost their light.
But because the medicine asked to be made from the inside this time.
The healer heals in silence first.
In the quiet spaces where no one claps. Where no one understands why they suddenly got distant. Where the phone feels heavy. Where the old version of them keeps trying to perform peace while the soul is asking for truth.
Isolation becomes initiation.
The world may call it withdrawal. The spirit calls it recalibration.
Because when you are the one everyone leans on, it can feel unnatural to finally lean into yourself.
To stop explaining. To stop saving. To stop translating your wounds into wisdom before they’ve even finished bleeding.
Sometimes the healer has to become unreachable so they can hear the ancient drum beneath their own ribs again.
Sometimes the healer has to sit with the grief they helped everyone else name.
Sometimes the healer has to admit:
“I am tired too.”
And that admission is not weakness.
It is the opening of the sacred door.
The healer does not rise by bypassing the darkness. They rise by learning its language.
By touching the ashes. By honoring the animal body. By letting the nervous system exhale. By remembering that medicine is not always light and lotus petals.
Sometimes medicine is ugly crying on the floor. Canceling the plan. Taking the nap. Lighting the candle. Unfollowing the noise. Choosing peace even when the ego wants proof.
And slowly, the healer returns.
Not as the version who overgave to be loved. Not as the version who confused exhaustion with purpose. Not as the version who thought healing meant always being available.
But as the embodied one.
The rooted one.
The one who now knows that solitude is not abandonment.
It is ceremony.
It is the cocoon. The womb. The underworld. The pause between death and rebirth.
So if you are the healer currently healing…
Let yourself disappear without guilt.
Let the silence hold you.
Let the old skin fall without turning it into content too soon.
Your medicine is not gone.
