CFAND, a district of the Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, is a not-for-profit organization committed to serving Central Florida by providing evidence-based nutrition information and nutrition expert resources to residents. CFAND membership is comprised of registered dietitians, registered diet technicians, licensed nutritionists and students. Members work in a variety of settings that include hospitals and clinics, universities and research centers, schools, businesses and industry, public health units, health and fitness centers, physicians offices as well as private nutrition counseling. We represent District 3, one of the 7 Florida Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND) districts representing Registered Dietitians and Registered Dietetic Technicians in Florida, which is part of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Graduate Nutrition & Dietetics Student Seeking Local Preceptors

My name is Amanda Cokinogenis, and I live in DeLand. I am currently an M.S. Nutrition & Dietetics student at Arkansas State University working toward becoming an RDN.

My most immediate need is a hospital Food Service preceptor/site for a 180-hour rotation from January 11–February 26, 2027, averaging approximately 25 hours per week. The preceptor does not have to be an RD and may be a Food & Nutrition Services director or another qualified foodservice professional.

I originally had this rotation arranged with AdventHealth DeLand/Fish Memorial, but unfortunately my university and AdventHealth were unable to reach an agreement on the affiliation contract. I am now looking for a non-AdventHealth hospital, particularly Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford, or another hospital within reasonable driving distance of DeLand.

I am also looking ahead for preceptors for two additional rotations later in 2027:
Hospital clinical nutrition rotation with an RD preceptor
Diabetes rotation in an inpatient or outpatient setting

If anyone works in one of these areas or has a connection with an RD, Food & Nutrition Services director, clinical dietitian, diabetes educator, or another appropriate contact, I would greatly appreciate an introduction or any contact information.
