Hormonal health is essential if you want great health. And its importance becomes even greater as we get older. The good news is there is so much that you can do to facilitate optimal hormonal balance.

1. As we get older we don't process protein as efficiently as we once did. Adequate protein consumption is needed for lean muscle mass, bone health and other functions.
2. Gut health plays a big role in our hormonal health. Our microbiome plays a big role in estrogen metabolism so that we don't become estrogen dominant.
3. Sugar is evil. Pure and simple. Sorry. But it causes inflammation, insulin resistance and leptin resistance.
4. Not only do healthy fats help decrease insulin resistance but they are also essential for healthy production of hormones.
