Florida College of Emergency Physicians FCEP exists to empower emergency physicians and protect the patients they serve.

Founded in 1971, the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP) is a state chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). We are the largest specialty society for emergency physicians in Florida, representing a collective voice for the entire emergency medicine industry.

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage of the first responders, healthcare professionals, and everyday Americans who answered the call in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember their service, their sacrifice, and the lives forever changed.

On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, ACEP recognizes the emergency physicians and first responders who rushed toward danger to help those in need, despite the chaos and uncertainty of an attack on our nation. Read ACEP President Dr. Tony Cirillo’s full statement below:

“In emergency departments and at the scene, our colleagues did what they do best, prioritizing the safety and care of others with extraordinary courage, reflecting the very best of our specialty and our nation.

We are guided and inspired by the spirit of service and unity shown by health care workers, their communities, and their families. Their example endures in every emergency physician who stands ready to provide lifesaving care, today and every day.”
