Today marks an important and historic moment for the Florida ACN Medical Association and the communities we serve. HB 809, Temporary Certificates in Areas of Critical Need, has officially been signed into law.
This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication, advocacy, and continued support of our active members. Your hard work, your voices, and your commitment to caring for underserved patients across Florida helped make this legislation a reality.
We extend our deepest gratitude to Representative Yvette Benarroch for her leadership, commitment, and unwavering support of ACN physicians and the patients who depend on them in Areas of Critical Need. We also thank Senator Colleen Burton, Governor Ron DeSantis, and all those who stood behind this important effort.
This legislation protects continuity of care, strengthens access to health care in underserved communities, and recognizes the vital role ACN physicians play throughout our state.
While this is not the end of our fight, and there is still important work ahead to achieve permanent licensure pathways and long-term job security for ACN physicians, today represents a major step forward. This victory solidifies the influence of our association, demonstrates the power of unity and advocacy, and gives all of us hope for the future.
Now more than ever, we must continue growing stronger together. We encourage every member to remain engaged, support the association, bring new members into our organization, and continue working collectively toward the goals we all share. Together, our voices are stronger, and together, we can continue creating meaningful change for our physicians and our patients.
Today belongs to all of you. Thank you for believing in this mission and for continuing to fight for the patients and communities who need us most.
