Let's talk about the autistic parents.

I see you.

I see you walking into open house with a smile on your face while carrying a thousand worries in your heart.

I see you wondering if the teacher will understand your child, if they will make friends, if they will be included, and if they will feel safe and loved when you're not there.

I see you explaining sensory needs, routines, accommodations, and the little things that make a big difference.

I see you hoping for patience, kindness, understanding, and acceptance.

I see you carrying the weight of every meeting, every phone call, every schedule change, and every unknown.

Most of all, I see how deeply you love your babies.

So, to the parents walking into open house today, I want you to know that I am proud of you. You are doing an incredible job!

I see you because I AM YOU ❤️

Many autistic children experience sensory differences.
A few tools that may help include: • Noise-canceling headphones • Fidget toys • Weighted blankets • Visual schedules • Sensory breaks
Every child has different needs, so what works for one child may not work for another.

A 15-year-old boy who cannot speak for himself is missing tonight, and every passing minute makes his family's fear even greater.

Jaquar Butler, 15, disappeared from his home on Hobbits Roost Street at the Village of Sycamore Ridge apartments near Blue Ridge Park in Memphis. He was last seen at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28. Tonight, his family is desperately hoping that someone recognizes him and helps bring him home safely.

Jaquar is autistic and nonverbal, which makes this situation especially urgent. If he becomes lost or frightened, he may not be able to communicate that he needs help. Every minute matters, and every set of eyes in the community could make a difference.

Someone may have seen Jaquar today without realizing he was a missing child. A single sighting, security camera footage, or one small piece of information could be the breakthrough authorities need to reunite him with his loved ones.

If you have seen Jaquar Butler or know anything about where he may be, please call 911 immediately or contact the Memphis Police Missing Persons Unit at 901-636-4479.

Please don't scroll past. Share Jaquar's photo across Memphis, Bartlett, Shelby County, and throughout Tennessee. Your share could reach the one person who recognizes him and helps bring this young boy safely back to his family.
