Today, we received tentative admission dates for little man’s bone marrow transplant. His modified stem cells are expected to arrive at the end of this month. If everything stays on track, he’ll be admitted to have his line placed, then begin chemo the first Monday in November—on his 11th birthday.

That’s a lot for this mama and daddy’s hearts to carry.

We’re so thankful he’ll get to enjoy trick-or-treating with his sister before this next chapter begins. And we’re even more thankful for the hope this treatment brings—a chance at a healthier life.

But being grateful doesn’t make this easy. To say it’s hard is an understatement. We’re holding on to hope while feeling the weight of what’s ahead.

Please continue to lift Iain in prayer—for strength, healing, peace, and courage as we take these next steps. ❤️

Surgery went well and his biopsy for possible fertility preservation was sent off for storage! 🙌

Poor guy is in a lot of pain and we’re working on managing that as we head home. He asked for a small drink to sip on and to use the restroom so we made a pit stop at a gas station and he ended up getting sick everywhere. 🥺 So very thankful the attendant working was an understanding grandmother! She helped us out and even put together some items to help us while on the road. Sometimes God shows up through a stranger!

We made it and went to our appointments for today! We even got to tune in online and watch our eldest play in her volleyball game tonight since we’re so far away. Blessed with a community that cheers my kiddos on! ❤️ Looks like surgery will be at 6 in the morning! Prayers please!🙏🏻

But for now, we’re having a little fun in the play areas of Ronald McDonald house here before we turn in for the night!

Because apparently today wasn’t already going to be hard enough…

We left early this morning headed to Children’s Mercy in Kansas City for Iain’s fertility preservation appointments and surgery. On the way, a trailer in front of us lost its ramps, and we ended up with a flat tire.

Definitely not how we planned to start the day, and it set us back some, but if there’s one thing this journey has taught us, it’s that setbacks don’t mean stop.

Huge shoutout to Arkansas State Police for coming to help us out and getting us back on the road. Y’all were a blessing this morning, and we truly appreciate it!

Tire handled. Plans adjusted. And we’re still headed to KC.

Today is another hard step toward protecting Iain’s future before treatment begins. We may be running behind, but we’re still moving forward.

One obstacle at a time. One mile at a time. We’re determined to get there.💙🙏

We returned from a very busy but AMAZING Make-A-Wish trip for Emilyn and jumped straight back into long days at the hospital and preparing for upcoming surgeries.

That trip was such a needed break. For a few days, we got to step away from the constant racing thoughts, appointments, treatments, and what comes next. We got to watch our girl just be a kid and make memories as a family.

But boy… reality hits hard when you come home.

Iain’s modified bone marrow is now a little over halfway completed, and we’re looking at anywhere from 5–7 weeks until he is admitted for what will be a long hospital stay with plenty of challenges ahead.

One of the obstacles we’re facing is that the treatment itself can cause major fertility issues. Tomorrow, we head to Kansas City for fertility preservation appointments and surgery for Iain. If everything goes as planned, we’ll be there for two days.

This journey is hard. There’s really no other way to say it. We know what’s coming won’t be easy, but we also know we aren’t walking into it alone.

So tonight, we’re asking for all the prayers we can get, for Iain, for tomorrow’s procedure, for safe travels, and for everything that lies ahead.

With God leading the way and our friends and family in our corner, we’ve got this. ❤️🙏

For a few days, the appointments, transfusions, numbers, needles, and worries didn’t get to be the loudest thing in the room.

Disney did. ❤️🏰✨

We laughed. We rode rides. We stayed out way too late. We made memories. And most importantly, we got to watch our kids just be KIDS.

This journey with Iain and Emilyn has taught us not to take the good days for granted. There will always be another appointment on the calendar, another transfusion, another hard day waiting for us when we get home.

But those things can wait.

Because this past week wasn’t about hospitals.

It was about Mickey ears, big smiles, sore feet, late nights, and a whole lot of Disney magic. 😂

These are the days we’ll hold onto when the hard ones come.

We came home tired… but our hearts are full.

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for, support, and follow Iain and Emilyn’s journey. The road ahead is still long, but this week gave us memories that no diagnosis can ever take away. ❤️

ONE. MORE. DAY. 🏰✨

Tomorrow, we trade transfusion days, hospital rooms, needles, appointments, and all the hard stuff for a little Disney magic. ❤️

This trip is all about our Eggy. Her wish. Her moment. Her chance to just be a kid and make some memories that have absolutely nothing to do with being sick.

The bags are almost packed. The excitement is REAL.

One more sleep, Eggy… Disney is waiting. 🥹🏰💫
