Because who doesn’t love a DIY before and after?!

Happy Early Christmas to me!!!
Thanks to my awesome husband for entertaining my final checklist item to my dream home! 🥰
When we purchased this house it literally had all of our hearts dreams for our forever home, the only item that was missing was a fireplace & mantel. Our tv stand fireplace was fine but it quit working a few years ago and I was ready for a fireplace again!
This home was loved and is loved. The previous owners did an awesome job refurbishing and designing and I wanted something to compliment and not compete with the already set esthetic of the homes simplicity and it’s light organic and airy atmosphere.
So I drew up this mantle (after searching high and low for the right one) and together Tyler and I brought the vision to life!
Being the first piece we have added to this home since we moved here - I can simply say am in love and proud of our work together!

If you don’t see me out much this winter it’s because I will be here In front of my little mantle, snuggled up under a blanket with a coffee or bourbon ( lol depending on time of day.. or not 😂🙈) and taking in my little life here in front of me! ❤️

The mess of life...
Confession: I hate messes, they usually disturb my peace. I appreciate a tidy, clean and respected space and with 3 boys as well as a husband ... oooof it’s becoming harder by the day to keep it tidy. I think it’s good to have a little habit of tidying but I’m also aware that this can also become such a vice for most of us. An obsession instead of thankfulness and respect of our blessing from God.
So today again God caused me to pause in my mess and count the beauty in it. The gift to provide homemade pumpkin bread and baby food for my family. The skill to support and provide as I multitask emails & back-office work, wash the dirty dishes from baking and lunch, refill empty jars of ingredients, sweep up all those crumbs that collect after each meal He has granted us and be here to help my kids grown and explore; while embracing his presence with worship music and the love I share with them from Him. These are the gifts He gives and we must give Him thanks and aw for them all. For there are so many not even near blessed in these simple ways we take for granted. So thank you Lord for stopping me to ponder on these beautiful messes. 🤍🙌🏼✝️

A spirit filled soul and everyday mamma once wrote a book on “The world is noisy, God whispers” (psss it’s by Julia Monnin if anyone is interested! She also has a great podcast as well ☺️) Man is the world noisy right now!
I’m not sure about all of you but this verse couldn’t feel more accurate and direct this morning. It’s funny - If I’m being honest, I’ve been struggling finding peace amidst trying to balance between being a wife, a mom, a friend and running a shop and trying to discern what’s the path that’s going to need walked in the days ahead! And then God called me to this little front corner of my home and guess what I find here.... Peace!
I’m still working on making it a real habit in my crazy days to slow down and just catch up with God. Really yearning for his word and relationship - as I find it’s easy to just be a catholic and do the said things but are we really talking with God?! Are we really giving him our whole selves good and bad? I often find myself not feeling “ready” or “good enough” to sit with Him. But I’ve been reminded frequently that He is calling us as we are! He Loves us so much and amidst our failures and weaknesses He ultimately just wants us to come back home!
So here I sit - broken and humbled - but when I come to this place and read His word all of the suffering, doubts, fears, worries and sadness leave and He gives me rest.
We need this always but I feel we have a lot coming our way in the days ahead so this is my suggestion - to myself and to you- SIT be with HIM, quit pushing Him to the side! Repent and Run from the world for its offering will only continue to cause you pain; Your Father, Your Lord, Your Mother, and the Holy Spirit are standing right there with you just waiting for us all to turn from this all and lean/run to them. For their arms are wide open ready to embrace and share the fullness of their Love - for you! 🤍✨
So get up - Smile, Dance & Run! We are going to have the best days ahead with them by our side - for darkness cannot touch what’s filled with His light ✝️🙌🏼✨

A moment to press pause amidst the mess...
So today’s been a mess. It has had lots of crying, fighting, missed potty attempts by the 3.5yr old, popsicles stolen out of the freezer by the ninjas before 10am, Dino fun with water in the tramp, hitting because someone knocked someone’s LEGO tower over, and baby giggles and tired/hungry cries all in the mix and it’s just now 2pm... it’s been a day and I’m again convincing myself that glass of wine in the cabinet is not the fix... As I stress about all the work that needs tended to not just here but also for the newly opened business I’m working to keep alive post pandemic shutdowns and wedding delays and ya know - I’m exhausted. BUT... I look at this mess right now and pause before I begin to clean it all up and I find joy, peace and love (for that bowl of spaghetti-o’s that’s everywhere🤪). Though the days are hard sometimes and I’m not ever sure how I’m going to get through the day and achieve that never ending list, there is one thing for sure - this to shall pass and when it does I’m sure I’ll miss the messy bowls and the sounds of wild boy messes throughout my day. Though they can drive their mamma crazy I love these little wild ninjas and all the energy and love they bring.
So today I’m gonna pause - maybe cry for 2 seconds (now that they are down the a nap )- and cherish this contagiously ordinary scene.

We all have that person or persons in our life that makes us stop and do some self reflection -“how are they always glowing, what’s their trick, do others feel like that about me?” Those persons of good heart have this silent but contagiously ordinary way of making us want to be better versions of ourselves.
Let’s be beautiful together-let’s be good of heart ❤️

Mom Hack!
Simplify pancakes by making them in a pan!!! So much better than waiting for each pancake to cook, I mean who has time for that?! 😉
Make pancakes per box instructions, add in favorite fruits ( we have apple filling and raspberries) bake for 15 mins at 350 degrees and enjoy!! 🙌🏼💖

Something about this cozy little corner...

Seriously, it’s silly the amount of joy this little cozy yet ordinary corner brings to my eyes. It’s simple, typically clean ... and just so pretty to look at!
Maybe because I’ve always dreamed of a cute little entry space in my home and now it’s here or maybe it’s simply
the fact that - does it really get better then shiplap + wicker bag + pillows + cute little plant?!
So country chic and purely contagious in it’s most organic way!
