Caravel Autism Health Caravel Autism Health helps young children with autism in Oshkosh and surrounding areas through diagnosis and clinic-based ABA therapy. Better outcomes.

Our research-based programs build skills and connection. Evaluations offered in clinic or through telehealth. A leader in the field, Caravel Autism Health specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of very young children with autism spectrum disorder. Our research-based, data-driven programs help these children build skills and embrace new ways of connecting with the world. Caravel offers autism diagnostic evaluations in clinic or through telehealth and provides applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for children in a welcoming, clinic-based setting. Our services include autism testing, early intervention, communication and language skills, social skills, school readiness, daily living and self-help skills, toilet training, mealtime and eating support, support for reducing challenging behaviors and parent/caregiver training and coaching. Children receive one-to-one therapy in clinic alongside opportunities for peer interaction. When a skill is best learned in a real-world setting (for example, a morning routine at home, a trip to the grocery store, or a haircut or dental visit), our team works with each child in the places that matter most based on their individual treatment plan. Happier lives.

Independence grows through everyday moments 💙

Picking between two favorite snacks, working on zipping up a jacket, or asking for help when something feels tricky. Each one gives children a chance to practice making choices, sharing what they need, and building confidence.

Every child learns at their own pace, and every bit of effort is worth celebrating.

What’s a new skill your child has been working on lately? Tell us in the comments 💙

Pink curls and plenty of personality 💗✨

Every child brings their own interests, creativity, and style to the world. We love getting to know what makes each child who they are and celebrating it, while helping them build skills and confidence along the way.

What’s something that always makes your child light up? 💕

Caravel BCBAs choose the assessments that fit each child they work with. There’s no single required tool across our clinics, because we believe the clinician closest to the learner is in the best position to make that call.

Assessment selection starts with the learner: their needs, their family’s goals, and the questions the clinical team is trying to answer. BCBAs make that decision with support from BCBAs in their region and across Caravel, plus our Clinical Center of Excellence team when they want another perspective.

If you’re a BCBA looking for that kind of clinical autonomy, we’d love to connect. Send us a message or check out our open roles (link in comments).

Fall is when a lot of families have their first daycare or preschool conferences. If a teacher brought up something about your child’s communication, play, or how they handle transitions, it’s completely okay to want more information.

Our free online autism screener is a simple, low-pressure place to start, and you can take it from home: https://pulse.ly/275vcoczto

Heading to a pumpkin patch or orchard this weekend? 🍎🎃

Fall outings can be a lot of new sights, sounds, smells, and textures all at once. A few things that might help:

Go early when it’s quieter
Bring headphones or a favorite comfort item
Let your child choose how they join in, whether that’s picking pumpkins, painting one, or watching from the wagon
Keep it short and end on a good moment

There are so many ways to enjoy the season. How does your family like to celebrate fall?

Last week in our Clinical Collective, Dr. Holly Gover came back for the final session of her three-part series on food selectivity.

Her presentation, "Prioritizing Assent and Choice when Addressing Food Selectivity: Treatment," took place last week with our clinicians. After focusing on assessment in her last session, Dr. Gover is turned to treatment and what feeding support looks like in practice when it's built around a child's assent and choices.

Dr. Gover is highly regarded for her work in food selectivity, assent-based care, trauma-informed behavioral approaches, practical functional assessment (PFA), and skill-based treatment (SBT), and we are so honored to have had her back for her third installment.

The Clinical Collective with our CCO, Dr. Adam Hahs is our monthly Caravel-wide BCBA meeting to support clinician growth, elevate clinical quality, and foster ongoing connection and learning across our teams and clinical leaders.

Thank you, Dr. Gover, for spending three sessions with our clinicians and sharing so much of your expertise!

BCBA nights have been happening all over Caravel, and here's a peek at one of them.

Our BCBAs spent the evening practicing how to give feedback and have coaching conversations that help teammates grow. Then things got competitive on the go kart track and at the arcade, and we wrapped up with value awards for some very deserving people.

Grateful for leaders who keep learning and make time to have fun together.

Yesterday we got together in Green Bay to celebrate our co-founder, Dr. Eric Lund, as he starts his retirement 🎉

Eric and Chris Van D**e started Lund Van D**e, LLC back in the early 2000s, providing in-home therapy for families in Wisconsin. A lot of what Caravel is today started with Eric: how we think about care, the tools our clinicians use, and the belief that teammates should be trusted and supported to grow.

Ask anyone who worked with him early on and you'll hear about long days driving between family visits, big conversations about verbal behavior, and his dogs riding along in the truck (with the heat or AC always running for them).

His hope was for Caravel to be a place everyone wants to go to and no one wants to leave. We're so grateful for the foundation he built.

Happy retirement, Eric! 💙 If you've worked with Eric, share a favorite memory in the comments

Today, our Chief Clinical Officer, Dr. Adam Hahs, is presenting during the Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP) Client Outcomes group!

His talk is called "Measuring What Matters: A Modern Outcomes Framework for ABA Services in Autism Care."

This group meets every week so autism providers can share the tools and processes they use to measure children's progress and learn from each other. When providers compare notes like this, families get clearer and more consistent answers about how their child's progress is tracked across the field.

At Caravel, clinicians track each child's progress in real time with PathTap™ and use that data to guide treatment decisions along the way.

Proud to have Dr. Adam representing Caravel today
