Integrating different wellness approaches as we age can offer more complementary care for ourselves, as well as, our current elder population. TCM is rooted in wellness through its holistic approach to the health of the whole person, this can be invaluable as we age.
In a recent article on acupuncture today, the author writes about acupuncture’s effectiveness and low adverse effects. “Evidence, suggests its effectiveness in the management of chronic pain, insomnia, and depression in older adults. Additionally, clinical studies indicate that acupuncture can contribute positively to the rehabilitation of seniors, recovering from acute illnesses, with reported improvements in pain, appetite, sleep, bowel function, and overall well-being.” -TCM in Elder Care Regina Robles, LAc, DAOM
