The New York Lactation Consultant Association is proud to continue supporting equity, diversity, and access in the lactation field through our Equity & Diversity Scholarship.
This scholarship was created to help reduce barriers for aspiring lactation professionals, especially those from communities that are underrepresented in the IBCLC profession. Families deserve lactation care from providers who reflect their communities, understand their lived experiences, and are committed to culturally respectful support.

By investing in future lactation professionals, we are investing in healthier families, stronger communities, and a more equitable lactation workforce.

New HHS Resource Highlights Exclusive Breastfeeding for First Six Months
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched https://www.moms.gov/, a new resource featuring sections on pregnancy and parenting. The website contains a section about breastfeeding, and the nutrition section includes guidance on exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life.
