💛 A New Chapter for Bloom Pediatrics 🌸

We’re excited to share a special update with our Bloom families!

Bloom Pediatrics is beginning a new chapter and is now locally owned by Jacy Kennedy, ARNP! Jacy has been part of Bloom since the beginning, and while the ownership may be new, the heart and mission behind Bloom remain the same.

At Bloom Pediatrics, we believe every child is fearfully and wonderfully made. We believe in treating each child as an individual, not just another number, and making sure our patients and their families feel comfortable, heard, cared for, and advocated for.

That mission has always been at the heart of the care we provide, and it will continue to guide Bloom as we move forward. 💛As always, the values at the heart of Bloom will continue to guide everything we do: Faith • Family • Compassion • Advocacy • Integrity • Individualized Care • Community

As part of this transition, our official business name has changed slightly to Bloom Pediatrics of Southern Iowa PLLC. Because of this, you may begin to notice the new name on insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), billing information, paperwork, or other communications. We wanted to let everyone know ahead of time so there’s no confusion if something looks a little different — it’s still us!

You’ll continue to see the familiar faces you know and receive the same personal, family-centered care you’ve come to expect from Bloom.

We’re incredibly excited about what this next chapter holds and look forward to continuing to care for, advocate for, and grow alongside your children through every stage of life.

📞 **A Friendly Reminder About Our After-Hours Call Phone**

We know questions and concerns about your kiddos don’t always happen during office hours! 💛 Our after-hours call phone is available for urgent medical concerns that come up when the clinic is closed and cannot wait until the next business day.

Our call phone is staffed by members of our Bloom team who take turns being available after hours. We greatly appreciate their willingness to be there for our families when they’re needed! At the same time, after-hours are also their time away from the clinic to spend with their own families. To help us honor and respect that time, we kindly ask that the call phone be used only for urgent concerns that cannot wait until we reopen.

For routine needs such as medication refills, scheduling, forms, lab results, referrals, or general questions, please contact the clinic during regular business hours and our team will be happy to help!

We’ve also recently made a change to our after-hours call phone. If you need to reach the on-call provider, please call our main clinic number and follow the prompts to be connected.

**Please note: Our previous after-hours call phone number is no longer in use. Any calls, texts, or messages sent directly to the previous number will not be received by our team.** Please always call the main clinic number to be connected with the on-call provider.

Measles is highly contagious, but the good news is that the MMR vaccine provides excellent protection. Two doses of MMR are 97% effective at preventing measles.

Now is a great time to:
✅ Check your child’s vaccination records
✅ Make sure your family is up to date
✅ Talk with your healthcare provider if you’re unsure whether your child needs an MMR vaccine

💪🌸 The Bloom girls are halfway there! 🌸💪

For the past few weeks, we’ve been spending our lunch breaks at Underground Barbell, and this week we officially hit the halfway point of our first workout program!

Having a great gym right next door makes sneaking in a workout over lunch pretty convenient. Going together has made it a lot more fun — although there may be a little complaining involved some days. 😂

At Bloom, we’re always encouraging kids to stay active and build healthy habits, and we think it’s just as important for the adults in their lives to do the same. Being active doesn’t have to mean playing a sport or following a complicated routine — it’s about finding something you enjoy and making movement part of your life.

Underground Barbell is a great option for both individuals and families, with 24/7 access, personal training, affordable memberships, and locations in Ottumwa and Hedrick.

We’re halfway through our first program and still going strong! 💪
