Aaron and Scottie did an awesome job today on the ramp! It should be finished tomorrow 💚. The outpouring of love and support from the community and the American Legion James Dickey Post 23 for this project is an absolute blessing 🙏🏼. I will be ordering the AED this week as well 😊. We're hiring! The library is accepting applications for a full-time branch associate scheduled to work 40 hours per week at the Lucasville Library. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and is responsible for providing reference and research services, including readers’ advisory, and maintenance of patron holds, and using a range of resources. I don’t even know where to start in thanking Claire Dettwiller for her help in raising the money for our ADA compliant ramp for the clinic. Help is actually an understatement as she raised $3,720 ALL BY HERSELF for us! I had to leave town almost immediately and very unexpectedly after she brought the check by and did not get to have pictures taken with her and I am super sad 😔.

Thankfully, we will have a chance to get lots of pictures soon as the lumber has been delivered and construction starts this week! As soon as the ramp is completed, we are having another open house with cotton candy, popcorn, and snow cones. We want to thank the entire community for their love and support of this critical item needed to finally be able to serve those who have mobility challenges ❤️.

From the bottom to the top of my heart and everywhere in between, I want to thank each individual who donated money and to the American Legion Post 23 who made a donation that doubles the amount of money needed for the ramp! We now have enough money to purchase an AED and finish a second exam room that will be more accommodating for wheelchairs. A huge thank you to the village of Otway for welcoming our clinic with open arms. I pray for a continued wonderful relationship and for many years of service to the community to come🙏🏼!

I am beyond thankful for this opportunity to serve the entire community now and beyond. It could not have happened without Claire, the individual donors, and the American Legion Post 23. I will never be able to adequately thank you all enough ❤️💙🙏🏼. Fingers crossed that there will be an opportunity for her to work with us (if she wants to 😊) next year when she is finished with school. To grow the clinic enough to have 2 providers would be a dream come true!

Please stay posted for a new open house date to come and celebrate with us! I will post as the ramp progresses. Thank you as well to Aaron Cyrus for your expertise in drawing up the plans and giving an estimate for the entire job. We appreciate your skills and hard work!

At Acorn Medical, we will still doing home visits to those who are unable to leave their homes and telehealth visits, but now even more people can come and see us in person! The Keurig, water, and snacks are always available for anyone who wants to stop in and visit 😊. You can also take a look at our snap jewelry store while you are here 😃.
