My earth angel has gained her wings after 93 years. 💔

I’m equal parts heartbroken, and full of joy and gratitude for the years we got to spend together.

To know her was a gift, and one I will forever cherish.

I’ll get around to sharing more of her story one day. She was by far the strongest of us, and we’ll miss her so much.

She was truly everyone’s Nana and I am so glad I got to share her with so many of you. Thank you for loving her right along with me.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary yesterday laughing and adventuring in the mountains (in the snow) and I can’t imagine anything more fitting.

Yesterday would have marked my beautiful momma’s 66th earthbound birthday.

It’s always a bittersweet day, and I find myself continually teetering between the grief of her death and the celebration of her spirit. Oh, the price we pay for love.

It’s hard not to wonder what she would have looked like as she aged, what it would be like to watch her become a grandma, what her hobbies would have been had she been gifted with more years to explore.

And - I consider myself so lucky to have known her, loved her, been loved and shaped by her.

Happy birthday, Mom. Here’s to you. 🥂

I’m not really sure how it’s been 10 years since my incredible momma made her transition. It still feels like yesterday. I expect it always will and honestly, I kind of hope it does.

My mother was a damn powerhouse. A force. Steadfast in her confidence that she should could do anything. So much of who I am today, I owe to her.

I was sad today, yes. Of course. But I was also awash in gratitude.

There are so many people in my life who have held space for me in my grief over the last decade. They have cried with me, allowed me to share stories, helped me keep her memory alive, and served as beautiful reminders that love conquers all. Thank you. You know who you are.

Missing you, momma. ♥️ Love you more.
