🚁 Bring Your Child to Work Day! 💚💙

HealthSTAR One had a great time joining our friends at Overland Park Regional Medical Center for their Bring Your Child to Work Day!

We loved giving the kids an up close look at the world of air medical transport, showing them around the helicopter, and sharing a little about what our flight crews do every day. There’s nothing better than seeing the excitement and curiosity on the faces of the next generation of healthcare heroes! 🚁🩺

CBC Declares Summer Blood Emergency 🚨

The blood supply is critically low, with less than two days supply. Summer blood donations are down 30% and compounded by the Fourth of July holiday and extreme weather.

All blood types are needed, especially A-, B-, and type O, the most critical blood type used in emergency care. We have not seen collection levels this low since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Join Us as We Honor Our Fallen EMS Heroes

On Wednesday, June 10, our EMS community will gather to pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving others.

This year, the National EMS Memorial Service Moving Honors Procession will honor 37 fallen EMS providers, including Kansas City Fire Department Paramedic Graham Hoffman. We invite our community, first responders, healthcare professionals, friends, and families to stand with us as we remember these heroes and send off the "Tree of Life" ambulance on its journey to Arlington, Virginia.

Simulation Lab this quarter was all about trauma care and sharpening our surgical skills.

Our crews spent the day reviewing and practicing critical surgical procedures while working through realistic trauma scenarios, including a pediatric bicycle accident and an adult motor vehicle collision. These hands-on simulations challenge our teams to think critically, communicate effectively, and deliver high-quality patient care in high-stress situations.

Continuous training. Constant improvement. Ready for the next call.

EMS week at Overland Park Regional Medical Center came with quite the morale boost today. Along with a free hotdog lunch we got to PLAY WITH PUPPIES. I can tell you first hand these pups are the sweetest and the good news is, they are up for adoption through Lucky 13 Rescue here in Kansas City!! Attached in the pictures are ways to reach out if you’re interested.
