🎉 Exciting Professional Update! 🎉

I’ve officially been approved to take the Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) Exam through Postpartum Support International.

This means I’ve completed the specialized training and eligibility requirements needed to pursue advanced certification in supporting individuals and families experiencing pregnancy and postpartum mental health concerns.

Whether it’s postpartum depression, anxiety, birth trauma, pregnancy loss, infertility, or adjusting to parenthood, specialized care matters. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue expanding my knowledge so I can better serve my clients and our community. 💙

Next stop: the exam! 📚✨

* Postpartum Support International states that the PMH-C certification recognizes professionals who demonstrate competency in supporting individuals and families experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and related concerns.
* PSI notes that the certification is based on specialized evidence-based training and a certification examination that establishes professional competency standards in perinatal mental health.
* Certification candidates must meet eligibility requirements, complete training, and pass the PMH-C examination before using the PMH-C credential.

Living with an autoimmune disease or chronic illness can be exhausting—not just physically, but emotionally too.

The uncertainty, fatigue, pain, and constant adjustments can leave you feeling anxious, isolated, frustrated, or hopeless. If you're struggling, please know this:

✨ You are not lazy.
✨ You are not a burden.
✨ You are not defined by your diagnosis.
✨ You do not have to navigate this alone.

At Belonging Therapy Collective, we understand that chronic illness affects more than your body. It can impact your relationships, identity, confidence, and mental health. Therapy can provide a space to process grief, manage anxiety and depression, build self-compassion, and reconnect with the parts of yourself that still deserve joy and belonging.

Healing doesn't mean pretending everything is okay. It means learning how to hold space for both your pain and your hope.

You deserve support.
You deserve understanding.
You deserve a place where you belong. 💛

📍 Serving adults throughout Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee, Kansas City, and across Kansas.

🌿 Exciting Professional Growth Update 🌿

I'm excited to share that I am currently training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy approach that helps individuals process trauma, distressing experiences, anxiety, and other challenges that can keep them feeling stuck.

As a therapist, I am committed to continuing my education and expanding my skills so I can better support the people I serve. EMDR offers a unique way to help the brain heal and reprocess difficult experiences, allowing space for growth, resilience, and hope.

I look forward to integrating this powerful approach into my work and continuing to provide a safe space where healing, connection, and belonging can flourish.

✨ Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

🤍 A safe space to heal, grow, and belong.

🖊️ The Therapeutic Benefits of Journaling

Sometimes the thoughts we carry feel too heavy to hold inside. Journaling offers a safe space to slow down, reflect, and process life's challenges.

Research has shown that journaling can help:
✨ Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
✨ Improve emotional awareness and self-understanding
✨ Process difficult experiences and trauma
✨ Identify patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
✨ Increase gratitude and positive thinking
✨ Reduce stress and improve overall well-being

Journaling isn't about perfect writing or grammar—it's about creating a space where you can be honest with yourself. Whether you write a few sentences, make a list, or simply jot down how you're feeling, putting your thoughts on paper can help organize emotions that may otherwise feel overwhelming.

Some simple prompts to try:
📝 What am I feeling today?
📝 What do I need right now?
📝 What is one thing I can let go of?
📝 What am I grateful for today?

Healing doesn't always happen through big breakthroughs. Sometimes it begins with a blank page and a willingness to listen to yourself.

One of the most common questions I get during my workshops on perinatal depression and anxiety is, “How can I support a friend?” One thing I love to do is make them a meal or buy a gift card—not just during the six weeks after delivering baby, but anytime they’re in need. Whether it’s late nights with the baby, managing older kids, or dealing with busy work and activity schedules, showing up with a meal or gift card can ease their burden.
